This time around I drove a black '13 M3 ZCP they had in Seattle and a white '13 in Bellevue. I went for the car not the dealer but experience with both was fine. They gave $4k discount total from their asking (which was pretty much KBB) pretty much off the bat. I also went back a couple of times for various small things (missing carpets, CF plate frame, broken felt boot on undercarriage). They fixed all for free. I'm happy with the experience at both places. No issues getting good money on my trade in either (offered a couple hundred bucks over kbb trade-in estimate value).

For maintenance I've always gone to BMW SeattleOnce in 2012 they put 3" deep scratch on the rear fender, next to wheel. Not only that, they "fixed" it with a self-repair bottle and it was a mess. I went to my sales rep and explained very nicely what happened. I told him I know i don't have a leg to stand on since I don't have any proof that car was fine before their service. They ended up apologizing and repainted the well for free. Overall i'm pretty happy with the outcome. They have done some other things there for me -replaced steering rack, battery, replaced sun roof seal, replaced Audio computer module, brakes & rotors- all under warranty/maintenance plan with no issues.
I did find it hard to replace my front rotors though and found it annoying that they didn't do them while I was under maintenance since my rotors were 0.2 mm above their guideline for replacement - literally a hair over their recommendation. They didn't budge on that one...
I think i may go to Seattle again for service with the M3 though. There is just something about the bellevue place that seems more amateurish.
Thank for all the dealer info. Great stuff!!

i would personally not prefer that car for the year...it's been 7 yrs and the motor ran 1100 miles total....less isn't always good for the car.
it means it pretty much sat there, how much oil was there? how old is the oil in the engine, 7 yrs? was it changed frequently, how was it stored?
sometimes a relatively low mileage cars (3K~5K miles/yr) are much better maintained than surprisingly less mile motors (1K mile in 7~8 yrs...), believe it or not

2012 E93 M3 - Black on Black
Dealer: BMW of San Diego
37.7K miles
7 Speed M-DCT
Premium Package
19" Wheels
Paid 43K + BS, ended up at 48K financed at 1.8% after adding lojack at dealer and gap at credit union. Considering purchasing the credit union's "Premium" warranty - 4 years 60k miles for about 5.5k, covers all the electrics, roof etc and covers parts caused by non covered parts and vice versa.

Lease buyout

I have a 2013 mineral white E92 M3 on a lease. MSRP 78K. Buyout 48K. I love the car and have put very few miles on it. I'm not sure I will be ready to part with it when the lease is up in the fall.

Does anyone have any experience with negotiating with the dealer. I have seen a few posts where members are getting their buyouts cheaper than the BMW asking price or requesting the dealer to CPO their cars before they buy it out. Does anyone have experience with this for an M?

Thanks.

Paul,

I've wrote about this before. You just need to search for it. Let me know if you have any questions.

You are really lucky then. I am searching country wide for the car I want and can't find one except 1000+ miles distance...I guess I have to travel in order to get the car

Wow---in the northwest you don't see these cars in the high 30's unless it's a 2008 so getting yours for less than $36K is great!

Unless you live in California, Florida, or New York, chances are you will be traveling for the "perfect" car. Shipping a car isn't as scary as it may sound if you are willing to make the leap of faith and buy a car sight unseen. I've done that twice and it's paid off both times, that might just be luck though .
