Their financing sucked too. I pegged the comparables in the tri state for a similar car at around 40k before taxes and fees (~45k after). I was hoping to get it for 37k. I lined up financing with my bank at 2.5%. Ultimately, the financing they gave me was 4.5%. I refinanced with DCU as soon as I got the payoff amount, so now I'm looking at 1.9%. I figured it would be easier to get the car I was looking at for an ok price and refi, than search for a few more months. I would never deal with the dealer again though...shady characters.

I went to ACM for PPI and they didn't do anything special that I wouldn't see myself. They charged 200 bucks. Car had paint work and they just denied that or in their words they don't want to ruin the sale so they don't discuss this when doing PPI..I am never doing PPI again
Yeah, I hear you. I've done a fair bit of wrenching with my dad so I have an ok idea of what to look for, but mainly I was kicking myself for not having someone pull codes, check for bearing wear signs, or point out anything specific a mid mileage M3 would show if it was beat on. I took it to a BMW dealer after just so it would show up on the CarFax, and they gave it a clean bill of health. I guess the PPI is more about peace of mind than anything else...

It seems funny but in end of 2013 i paid around 77.000 euros 210.000 TL ( 1 euro is 2.7 Turkish lira ) to used 2009 M3. İt had lots of options. CFR, Logic7, CİC İdrive, Adaptive lights vsvsvs. We have hugeeee taxes in Turkey. Today if you want to buy a full 2011 E92 M3 you should pay around 100.000 euros and m3 and m4 starts from 160.000 euro

The dealership lured me in with a $34k price, though they quickly revealed that was after a downpayment of $3k and using their financing. It had all the options I was looking for (I wanted a moonroof), but was a little high on the mileage. Didn't do a PPI (I know, I know), but the CarFax was clean, and all the services checked out. Looked like a high mileage, one owner lease that dealers had a hard time moving, so I jumped on it (even after dealing with the shady dealer fees/tactics). I'm sure if I looked longer, I could've got a better deal, but I'm happy with it so far (especially after a great blackstone report and BMW dealer inspection). Just wish spring was here so I could drive it more...
Sounds like a great car and I'm glad you are happy with it! Can you post or PM the dealer name so that I can add it to my blacklist?

Hey Everybody!!

I am close to joining the M3 community! My first BMW purchase! I do need some help and expertise!

BMW 2013 M3
Approx 1000ish Miles
Alpine White/Black Novillo Leather
Cold Weather Package
Premium Package
M DCT Trans
19" Alloy Double-Spoke wheels
Not CPO
Clean CarFax
Asking Mid-60

1. What would be a good deal on this vehicle? Mid 50?

2. What would be a resonable deal on this vehicle? High 50?

3. Is it safe to buy this vehicle from a BMW dealer without CPO? If not should I ask for it? It is only 1k Miles

4. What should I look for?

5. If it is sold by the dealer do I still need to bring a mechanic to make sure everything is okay? Or does BMW dealers have a standard they have to follow inorder to sell a used vehicle?\

Last of all Thank You for the help!

Platinum Auto Mall in Long Island City, Queens. With a name like that, how could they NOT be trustworthy? In any event, apparently they are turning into a Mitsubishi Dealer (Planet Mitsubishi) and closing that location, so I doubt they'll be moving M3s for much longer...

What's going on with the shift knob? Looks like the boot isn't attached to it.

For purchase:
I bought from BMW Bellevue(Jim Turnage SA). The SA was pretty cool and patient with my family. Previously bought my 550i from BMW Seattle in 2011. This time around I drove a black '13 M3 ZCP they had in Seattle and a white '13 in Bellevue. I went for the car not the dealer but experience with both was fine. They gave $4k discount total from their asking (which was pretty much KBB) pretty much off the bat. I also went back a couple of times for various small things (missing carpets, CF plate frame, broken felt boot on undercarriage). They fixed all for free. I'm happy with the experience at both places. No issues getting good money on my trade in either (offered a couple hundred bucks over kbb trade-in estimate value).

For maintenance I've always gone to BMW SeattleOnce in 2012 they put 3" deep scratch on the rear fender, next to wheel. Not only that, they "fixed" it with a self-repair bottle and it was a mess. I went to my sales rep and explained very nicely what happened. I told him I know i don't have a leg to stand on since I don't have any proof that car was fine before their service. They ended up apologizing and repainted the well for free. Overall i'm pretty happy with the outcome. They have done some other things there for me -replaced steering rack, battery, replaced sun roof seal, replaced Audio computer module, brakes & rotors- all under warranty/maintenance plan with no issues.
I did find it hard to replace my front rotors though and found it annoying that they didn't do them while I was under maintenance since my rotors were 0.2 mm above their guideline for replacement - literally a hair over their recommendation. They didn't budge on that one...
I think i may go to Seattle again for service with the M3 though. There is just something about the bellevue place that seems more amateurish.

It's attached, must just be a funny shadow in the pic. I've since swapped it for the M5 shifter though (so I guess it's not attached after all!)

I've been thinking about getting the M5 shifter myself. I think it might be one of first mods. How do you like it?

I like it a lot. Let's move this conversation over here: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...+M5+shift+knob

Lots of good info in that thread, and if you have any further questions I'll try to answer them.
