It took me 3 months of looking to find the right car. I was going to travel for a low mileage car if needed but lucked out with one 15 miles away.

I knew I didn't want an 08, and preferred 11 or later, but the premiums that those cars are carrying compared with the same miles on a 1-2 year older car are very high. I chose older car, same miles, and cheaper price. I hope I made the right decision. Time will tell. My daily driver is a honda civic and the M3 is the weekend car so mileage will be kept at a minimum, but it would be nice to drive the M3 every day!

My best friend has a 2013 that he just supercharged and put black HRE FFO1 on his comp package car. He is going to give me his ZCP wheels which will be a nice addition to the car.

I've done that twice and it's paid off both times, that might just be luck though .
I bought my last car, a 2005 e46 M3 with 11,000 miles on it from the EAG guys in 2010. I had it shipped and it was "covered" but my car was on the bottom row and there were rocks, pebbles, and dirt all over my car from the car above it. That wasn't cool. I also had a 1967 bug shipped from Utah to so cal and it went fine. My e46 cost $1200 shipped from ohio in 2010 and the bug was $800 shipped from utah in 2012, fwiw.

Thats exactly what I paid for a 2011 from a dealer. Except you have a comp package, CPO and slightly more miles. Other than that, we own very similar cars.

I think you did just fine. When I looked up my car on KBB, the dealer was slightly higher than the KBB, but I wanted that exact car so I paid a little more. I just spent $46k+ on a car, I'm not going to let $1k be the breaking point, its those first $45k that you need to seriously consider.

I'm looking at a 2012 E92 (options attached)
25K miles with extended maintenance until 2018 or 100K miles
$45,500

Is this a good deal? Dealer won't budge.

I think it is a reasonable deal and provides peace of mind for a long time. That is certainly worth something.

Alright guys... Appreciate any comments on how well you think I did...

Purchased 3/19/15
2011 E90 M3, DCT
Lemans Blue/Black Leather
Competition, Premium 2, Convenience, Cold Weather, Moonroof, Premium Sound
No warranty left, but has extended maintenance until 5/2017 or 100k.
43K miles
$41,500

The seller also threw in the roof rack and a bicycle adapter as he'll no longer have use for them. The car was in the Seattle area, but ironically I had 1 day up there before flying home to FL (work trip) and I met the seller and saw the car. It is insanely clean with only ONE chip on the passenger rear door. Otherwise, car is immaculate, drove beautifully. The car was originally a lease (3 year) and then the seller owned it for 1 year. The warranty ran out on 3/5/15, I looked at the car 11 days afterward.

Shipping from Seattle area to Southeast Florida cost me $950.

How'd I do?

Not sure if that means I overpaid....? But to be honest, I wanted a very specific car and this one was almost 100% perfect (I really wanted the Bamboo beige interior, and I wanted the window shades). And being that I was able to actually see the car, I was pretty happy. I felt better knowing that I was personally able to look at and check the car out, even though I was ready to buy one sight unseen.

I meant that it was a good decision to buy it..price wise it is within the range. You did not overpay for it as this is how much it is worth these days.

BTW, you are the only person I know of who likes bamboo beige interior. Most of people on this forum are not fan

Congrats on your new purchase!

Congrats on your new purchase!
Well thank you sir... Delivery is tomorrow morning between 7-8am, so I'll surely be up all night posting and reading threads.

I'm glad to hear that I didn't overpay. I felt really comfortable paying the price I did, and given the list of things I wanted, I was happy finding a car as close as I did. Not to mention, the seller is perhaps one of the nicest and most honest people I've met. Made me feel really good about the purchase.

On the bamboo beige... If everyone hates it so much, then hopefully someone will want to trade me out! I'd love to swap.

Certified 2011 M3 Sedan 6MT
Purchased: 3/28/15
Price: $46,500
Mileage: 30,500
Exterior: Alpine White
Interior: Black with carbon leather trim
Options:
Premium Package 2, EDC, PDC, 19" wheels, slicktop, auto high beams, Bluetooth with BMW Assist, heated seats, Sirius

I have been looking at 2011 E90 M3s for several months now, waiting for the right certified and lowish mileage car to appear. This was the best non-black 6MT car I could find. The car has a 7/2011 production date and was impeccably kept by the previous owner, with the interior showing almost no wear and the exterior appearing near new. The dealer installed new Pilot Sport 2s as part of the certification process and put the car in their showroom. The price was high but well within NADA and KBB ranges for certified cars. Additionally, I have warranty coverage through August of 2017 on a pristine car, which is exactly the peace of mind I needed in making the purchase. I could not be happier with this very special and fairly rare car.
