On December 6 I've organised a half day for 5 drivers to a Race track Driving Course with Doug Chappel (Race Driver) at Queensland Raceway, Willowbank, although the 5 training places are booked there are 4 (or more if interest is there) places for freelance track time at your own pace and in your own time. It will be similar to other track days where there are only quality cars on the track with responsible drivers, so next to no risk. This will give 4 hours of track time to do as many laps as you like with as much frequency as you like.
The more the better. Please let me know if you want a spot, I'll be overseas for the next 3 weeks, outside our time zone but will respond to any PMs or emails
Although we can take many more I need for more places filled before booking the track

PM me or visit my FaceBook page (below) to stay up to date

Cheers

Dave

Hi Duane
There are 4 spots. The total cost of the track is quoted at $3340.00 plus $400 for Doug, meaning each person freestyling would be up for $334.00.

There is no problem at all taking more drivers as there will be very few cars on the track at one time, so we could take 20-30, but I can't book the track until I get minimum numbers unless our present crew wants to go ahead at extra cost and we try and get extra places. I can't take the risk on my own as there are no margins, this is the actual cost.

So if anyone is interested please let me know. Once the track is booked we can take extra to cut down the cost but there has to be a minimum to book

BMW Club QLD is at lakeside on the 2nd Nov. I am going to join them for the day but there is no driver training available on that day. I have tried a few friends but being new to the game my petrol head network is limited :-).

The day is now booked and guarantees to be great with variety of experienced to the most inexperienced drivers on the day.
I need you to download and complete these forms if you are participating. The indemnity has to come back to me and the other two forms are handed in on the day at the QR office. One is an application for the AASA licence, if you hold a licence already no need to download. I'll be billing this out soon but will keep the event open for bookings until November 23 so I can work out a final price per head. Please PM me if you are interested, this is a day for us who want to get out there and drive on the track without the concern of having some kid in a heap trying to compete and causing problems.

There is a great mix of us this day from those who have never been on a track to seasoned race car drivers, there will also be some exotic cars in addition to the M3 group, including Lambos, a Cobra, a V8 Supercar, and a ’69 worked Camaro. Be there as early as you like and see Dave Russell in action in the morning session. Look forward to seeing everyone there

Cheers

All welcome to come along on the day, even if you are not driving you might next time. Should be a great day

Thanks Duane
I think it was an outstanding success. Everyone had a great time including Doug, there were no incidents or accidents and I think most of us learned a lot.
Wasn't it great to see the diversity of cars and drivers there yesterday

What's so good about this type of day is it allows like minded people who want to drive their cars on the track without the competitiveness which brings higher risks. I guess there will always be a demand for days like yesterday and hopefully we can get together again next year and do a few.
Guys if you are interested please let me know and I'll start organising the next one for around March when it cools down a bit

Here are some of the non M3 cars yesterday. No matter what everyone drove, we all left yesterday with less rubber on the tyres, less fuel in the tank and a big smile

I have a good clip of your Beemer flying past me (think your Dad was driving to catch the Lambo). Sounds cool! Do you want to PM me your email and I will send it over. I will try and post here if I can.
