Hi all, I've been browsing these forums for long enough as I've been waiting for my car (MR E92 M3 6MT ZCP acronyms acronyms...) to be built and shipped and figured it was finally time to register and post something I was very excited to see that my girl finally got on a boat! Anyone else on the same ship?

So glad that the car has finally shipped; waiting for the car to get on a ship is probably the worst part of the wait because nothing is happening and you have no idea when it will. Even if it's still around another 30 days before she's here at least things are moving again!

I placed the order on October 9, so looks like the total wait will be about 10 weeks... And at the end a fantastic early xmas present!

My car's on the same ship I've been lazy trying to find status on where exactly the ship is so thank you very much for the easy find! It's expected to arrive in San Diego on Dec 10, correct?

Ship's gone off the tracker but it cleared the Panama Canal on Friday, so we're getting there!

Today's the day! I ordered my car from Steve Thomas in Camarillo...assuming the car is in great shape after it arrives at the port, when's the earliest I can pick up?

At the VPC as well, confirmed with my CA over the weekend. Saw a screenshot of the dealer's info screen today, and it says the car is on hold for repairs and there's a work order out. Hope it's not anything serious... CA tried to get info from the VPC but he did not hear back from them today

Damn, sorry to hear. My CA told me the car is expected to arrive at the dealership on Friday, even though the dealership is near the port. I don't think it should take that long from VPC to the dealership. I'm hoping my car didn't get damaged too.

I work in this industry. Cars, especially M3s and the like, do not get damaged easily. The process of moving cars from pont A to B is seemless. While on the vessel, these cars are parked within 6" of each other. Then they are "lashed" down to the deck. Also, DCTs and most autos come in transport mode. The car won't even exceed 2-4000 rpm. They're in limp mode. The 6 speeds are a different story, but are still handled with care. The radios don't even work. Rest assured, the people moving these expensive toys have an obligation like no other. If products begin to get damaged frequently, contracts will be voided and vessels will dock elsewhere.

48Laws, thanks for the insights... My CA still has not been able to get any word out of the VPC as to why it is saying the car is being held for repairs.

2Swift, when I checked the port schedule it said that there were around 2,000 Bimmers on our boat. Some of them probably stayed on board and got shipped over to Japan but they probably offloaded quite a few at Oxnard. So, the reason why you won't be able to get yours until Friday is probably just due to the large number of cars they're processing this week.
