Congrats on the build. Hope to see you around town and a few of the COTA events. Planning on doing the Spokes autocross at COTA next month.

BMW purist approved! I do like the idea behind using a S65 as opposed to something else... it just makes sense! More power and less weight than the S54, and you gotta love that V8 sound especially coming out the back end of an E46!

thanks, I would like to take her to an auto-x event some day. Not sure which class I would be in, I was the Utah region Street Mod champ in 2003 in solo and solo 2.

Funny you mention it. I just signed up for the Spokes event on 2/19 at COTA. I have done 3 track days there, but never autocross.

I wouldn't worry about what class to choose, they will be able to guide you when you get there. I signed up for Novice considering it is my first autocross and all the literature on their site pointed in that direction. Sure it will be fun whatever class you sign up for.

Only in Canada. In the US they run between $65,000 and $85,000 depending upon options.

auto-x is great, unfortunately I cant make it. The M3 swap is staying in Atlanta so Matt Farah can do a review for his Smoking Tire youtube channel while he is there testing other cars at Road Atlanta.

There's that sweet 2016 Ferrari Red M3 at Mercedes-Benz Austin that I convince myself daily I don't really want.

just suspension is really left, going to try some Status Gruppe coil overs and throw some 5mm wheel spacers on her. The wheels are Sport Line, they are 18 pounds each, about 5 pounds lighter than stock 19". A lot of what I am doing is weight savings as well..really hoping for sub 3,000 pounds

This combo is the ultimate M3.

You've basically recreated the "V8 E46 M3 GTR" formula that BMW dared to race, but didn't dare to sell.

Love the CF roof as well.

Hats off to you, OP. Looking forward to the Smoking Tire review.

While the pairing would make an awesome performer, I wouldn't change anything on an e30 M3. They are too rare and too valuable to chop up. FWIW, I feel the same way about the 3.0 CSL.

I met them at Road Atlanta during Petit Lemans, I told them my idea and they said they wanted to take the project on. They have been so professional, the car is almost as good if the factory put in the S65, all safety precautions have been taken into account, from fuel lines to brake line routing/rerouting

thanks man, people keep asking why, to me it is the best looking/performing chassis, with the best high revving motor BMW has ever made, way more reliable than it's twin the S85 V10, yet lighter.
