the ISF would be about the last sports Coupe/sedan I would buy. I would get an aging RS4 first. even in the RS4 you open the hood and see a beautifully crafted engine, not a plastic cover.

Okay, guys I think we pretty much put the ISF to rest.... but in my quest, I just like to share info that American Service Center Ballston has their first Steel Grey, Blk Interior C63 AMG in the shop. It is slotted for delivery Tues. I spent a good while in it, around it, under it and in it and around it again well you got the picture. Check out the competition

guess who's better on straight run and who's better on the tracks?

put the isF to rest and bring up the AMG? the thread is opriginally about the ISF.

best in the straights ( who cares the world is not flat or straight) - the AMG

best on a road Course = M3

best at nothing compared to the two above? the ISF.

One thing I've read from AMG forum though is their high regards for the M3s track record and performance standing

but for most who lives in the real world, their challenges are on streets and roads within the first 60 speedo-miles

.... just happen to use the thread for a personal car market comparo

real world roads are the true test. I get my kicks on the curves and cloverleaf on-ramps too. I like to track may car too. The AMG is an awesome, fast beast for sure.

yeah! very disheartening
... but I heard somewhere a 5 liter is hovering in the the shadows... or better yet a 6 liter has sprung up somewhere
.... as they say there is no replacement for displacement.

and they can be much more fun than clipping toe nails btw

I respect what toyota did but the design philosophy really turns me off. The front vents are not functional, the exhaust setup is ridiculous, and overall gives the car a more form over function feel which reminds me of pontiac....

Oh - I meant your review of the car said it was 4.2 liter.

On the IS board most of them complain that Toyota did not put enough funding in to the design and construction.

What do you mean enough, ads said there was NONE, the engineers worked on their own unpaid time before they took it to the Board. Some say Good first try, others say scary to think what more if they were fully funded

Im not with you on this, no matter what this board says, I feel that the ISF gives the best bang for the the buck.

At $62k out the door, no nickle and dime'ing for any little extra, plus gives you the handling that not even 10% of these M3 guys have experience and yet bitch and trash about. Its a true contender for the M3, welljust look at how much fuss this car has created ever since it debut, that to me is remarkable.

better gas mileage, no gas guzzler tax, better reliability... I say not bad at all

Wow! I can't believe you two are flaming on a BMW owner just because he likes the ISF. That's pretty low even for you sayemthree or is it dontknowM3. First of all, a comparable loaded ISF is about $62k compare to a comparable loaded e90 M3 for about $66k. That's what PocketRocket is talking about, you don't believe it, go build it yourself. To be honest, at this price range, $4k is not much of a difference. No die hard BMW fan would be sway to buy anything else for a difference of $4k, and i understand that and respect that as well. But don't flame on the guy just because he doesn't agree with you or just because he likes another brand.

$295, not bad if you get 2+ hours on the track. However, I doubt the many laps equals 2 hours of lapping. I'm sure the 4.5 hour day includes a lot of classroom time and demos. I'd love to spend two hours on the track using up someone elses tires, but it's not likely going to be that much.

If BMW was sponsoring this event they'd have competitors there to compare to their car.
