At $80K US MSRP and 4300 lbs, totally different class of car than the M3.

Like most more powerful and heavier cars out there, the M3 still beats it around a track.

No doubt it is a worthy competitor for the M5, but BMW will strike back with the new M5...
i dissagree the ford jag can go up against the caddie m3 is in a different class. and of course so is the M5. i do like the ford jag i may buy for my commuter car to work and let my wife drive the M3 like shes doing during the week. cant run up the miles on the BMW but i have no problem running them up on the Ford

While I do like the look of the Jag from the ones I've seen around I don't agree that the interior is superior than anything else on the market. IMO, Audi still has a notch up on everyone else for their interior and that Jag one looks like a lot of cheap plastic. The M3 interior is much better and appears to me more ergonomic.

Totally different class of car indeed. No stick shift. No auto-manual either. Heck, not even a freaking shift lever. You could have gone to the M5 board, but M3? Get real man.

I think the new jaguars are great. They totally headed in the right direction and even the new XJ is just down right beautiful.

Still wouldnt pick one over an M3... yet.

JAGUAR> EVERY CAR MANUFACTURE
Its not always about speed 0-60 and 1/4 mile. Its about the car itself. Jaguar makes some of the most sexiest vehicles period. Jags are a piece of ART according to Jay Leno.

Look at the new 2010 XJ its pure beauty. This interior > than any german interior ever made.

Are you crazy ? Jag interior > any german interior. I take me some blue gauges & lighting over some orange or white gauges. Jags make the best interiors out there way more advanced and futuristic looking.

8 posts?

Troll alert.......

Appreciate your a fan of the Jag, and it does look nice overall. The XJ looks like a homage to Bentley though.

When you come to a BMW forum, go all fanboy for the Jag, bash the BMW (actually, German vehicles in general), all in a few posts, you are not necessarily being a "gentleman" on your end. Expected from the EVO crowd, perhaps, but from a dignified fan of British marques?

The board is open minded, but there is no need to be an ass, and if you are, don't expect pure dignity in return. Just my two cents.

You sir are funny! Thanks for the comic relief. Don't you have a civic board to go back to? Your a class act and never ONCE did I ever consider getting a Jag, maybe when I turn 70, just maybe...

People in the market for C55,C63,XFR,ISF are probably looking for a straight line rocket. However I'm more of a track guy and like an engine that has to work hard in order to get some power.

The new XJ looks like a Lincoln from the back(MKS)

This is a sale pitch. But for comparison I do not see the raw, well thought, optimum and clean beautiful interior of a german car. That jag interior is a lot of gimmicky looking fancy shaped plastic with LEAD back lights in hollywood glamor wannabe style. This fancy futuristic look is going to look dreary in a short few years. This is confirmed by some review : Edmund : "Some of the knobs that look substantial actually feel flimsy" . Paddle shifts are plastic as well. I think this car might be well suited for hoarding pin up girls at the playboy mansion but not for comparison to a german racehorse athletic car like an M.

0-60mph is 5.5 sec so this pimp car will get smoked by a bone M3.

Indeed it is a blinding interior... "the chrome trim mounted on the center console that reflects the sun into the driver's eyes. Keep something handy to cover it all up."

It is a nice looking car if you like this kind of superficial empty bling. not for me.
Exterior.. I don't like it.

Top gear laptimes:
BMW M3 1.25.3
BMW M5 1.26.2
Jag XFR 1.26.7
+1

The Jag and M5 are clearly for the more older crowd. (no offense )

So many of us M3 guys could not picture ourselves in the new Jag or even the new CTS-V. They're very powerful and fast, but the M3 has a more athletic and younger personality.

I think you're trying to come on too strong with your new and upcoming XFR. Yeah it's a great full size, high-performance sedan......But it's not the right car for many of us M3 guys. I guess I can't speak for everyone, but it is DEFINITELY NOT a car that I would consider for myself. Speaking of considering, my dad is actually planning on getting a new base level XF with nav. That trim is an excellent value for the money. But at the end, it's my dad's type of car....But I still think it's an excellent vehicle regardless.

Good luck with your new XFR, and try not to BASH our M3 since it's truly one of the most special vehicles ever created.

Once you go English you never want to go back. Again Jags> German Cars. Go test drive one yourself. Way superior cars and more reliable too unlike German cars always in the shop .

Jaguar is the most reliable cars according to JD Powers

Correction Ford owned Jaguar, Aston Martin, & Land Rover at a point in time. Everything Jaguar made was made in Coventry England. Dont get it twisted. Also Jags & Land Rover is owned by Tata Motors not Ford. Jaguar still makes its cars in England.

Not a fan of the new look. They should've made the design evolve progressively. This design change is too drastic and it makes it too unfamiliar from the older XJ series. They did right with the design on the XKR though.
