Saw and sat in the new M3 today at my dealer. All I can say is WOW.

I was really skeptical of this car before I saw it, leaning toward the C63 AMG. Saw an Alpine White Coupe today in person for the first time. Simply stunning. Pretty much fully loaded, carbon fiber roof, black leather interior, technology package, etc. The sound of that V8 is unbelieveable, especially when being revved. I mean what else can you say, it sounds like a race car. Couldn't drive it, but sat in it and the seats felt very supportive, especially in the shoulder area. The Novillo leather is great. Definitely a smoother, softer feel than the Dakota. The carbon leather trim looks great with the black leather, and you combine those two with the dark headliner and the cockpit just feels right.

It was a weird feeling after following this car for so long from seeing the spy shots to sitting in the driver's seat. Car is a beast.

But your Dinan 335i is probably faster with way more TQ. The new M3's V8 sound isn't everything. When you get a chance, take the E90/E92 M3 for a test drive, and you'll probably realize you want to either keep your Dinan 335i or go for the E63 after all.

I completely agree with you. I wouldn't give up my 335i right now for the M3. I am just looking at the M3 for down the road potentially. I guess I should just be content with what I have, but hey if you like cars, can't hurt to look around right? Like you said, won't really know what it is like until a test drive.

True. I guess when you really think about it though, the torque on the M3 is by no means shabby. The torque curve for this car is amazing. Not an eye-popping amount of torque, but the availability and range is crazy.

clearly you have not been following the data with the M3 coming in with 4.1 times to 60. I have yet to see the best modded 335s doing this. Can you just imagine what a modded M3 with M-DCT will do? 3's for sure.

p.s. TQ means piss. My trailblazer has 320 lbs of TQ and I can't get the damn thing to hit 60 in less than 8 seconds!!!! The M3 and 335i are not in the same league, looks and performance. Accept it and move on.

Why don't you go test drive a dinan 335 and the m3 back to back and tell us your honest opinion. I'm sure you'll be bias as you're getting the m3, but it would hurt right?

i think you need to get over yourself and get off your dam M badge high chair. The M3 is not the end all be all. You are just as bad as the 335 owners that think the 335 is the greatest car ever. You sounds like those misinformed guys that has never experienced any other cars and buy into all the ///M badge hype.

Tell me whats so great about the M3 that i cant even compare it to a low class 3 series? The handling? Sure its definitely better then a regular 3 series, but its nothing to worship over. There are plenty of cars out there that handle way better then an m3 but you dont see them putting there own cars on a petistle . The power? The m3's high revving v8 is nice but its still no match for its competitor c63. The m3 does a lot of things better then a regular 335 but at the end of the day, ITS STILL A 3 SERIES. Get off your dam high horse about the M badge because all it is is a badge.

who cares if you can make a 335 faster/cooler/look cooler/sound cooler.... actually wait, no./have more torque/ etc etc; they are both VERY different cars in the end. theres always gonna be something out there thats way cheaper then your car and faster....

i rather drive an F430 then a 9 second honda CRX or a M5 over a 10 second evo

Im not saying the 335 is a better car/can be made to be a better car. Im just saying that these people that worship the m3 like its a god needs to get a clue. There are better cars out there besides the m3 or even the 335 for that matter ZOMG I SAID IT!!!!!

Just respect each car for what it is and stop trying to put one above the other. That Chineseguy makes it seem like an M car is god and i need to get over myself for comparing my shitty low life 3 series to the all mighty M!!!!

haha i was talking about sflgator's post but ok i guess that works too and i dont know if that "stop trying to put one above the other" comment was directed towards me or not but i dont see how my post would be doing that.... especially since i drive a 335 myself

basically what you said was just a repeat of what i said

haha no its not directed towards you. i edited my post. I just hate people that talk as if there is no car better then an M. There are soo many more open minded people on m3forum then lets say here. They know what there car is and what it isin't and dont feel like they have to justify it to anyone else.

You stll measure your car's performance from 0-60mph? Clearly you haven't been following the data with the tuned 335i's (PROcede v2, AA XEDE, JB2H, Dinan, etc.) coming in with 1/4 mi. times between 11.9 sec. - 12.9 sec. @ 110mph+, with the average modded 335i. ~ 12.6 sec. @ 111mph.
