2 H&R spring choices? ("Sport" and "Sport PLUS" according to Turner Motorsport web)

hi guys,

looking to get a set of springs for my car. debating Eibach vs H&R.

I was leaning towards eibach since i come up on alot of driveways around so cal. but i found on Turner motorsport's website, that they have 2 different kinds of H&R spings available:
1. the SPORT SPRING set

2. the SPORT PLUS spring set

anybody know anything about the "plus" spring set. first i have heard about this. i searched through the forums for "turner", "spring", "springs", "eibach", "dinan" in both title and thread searches, couldnt find anything and iw as going cross eyed.

if anyone can shed some more light on this, i would be very greatful.

I just installed my Eibach springs myself yesterday. I spent a lot of time researching the different products out there. I wanted a nice drop but something that was subtle and really only noticeable to those who know. I'm very happy with my choice so far. They ride great, feels just like OEM and looks so much better.

I believe the sport plus has the same lowering height, it just has a different rate on the springs.

it is the same drop just stiffer spring rate. i have a set in my car ordered from Turner about 2 weeks ago.

We're going to start selling them but this is a new thing, H&R usually doesn't offer something like this.

I don't have any experience with the softer spring rate so my opinion is limited. The street ride is good not rough at all, I do however find that the stock shock rebound may not be suitable. I don't have EDC I was planning on going coilover. I found in my track test last weekend the response was good, my one complaint is when hitting an agressive dip in the road the compression is good the rebound isn't, the spring rate may be too aggressive for the stock shocks and the car bounces hard upwards hard. When not expecting it, it could become a bad situation. one note running 18" stock wheels and 12mm spacers all around the rear tires rub very lightly. I need to play around with the setup abit to be able to get a better feel, i would like to try the other springs and see how the shock are able to handle it. EDC may make this better.

With EDC you may be stuck running the shocks in Sport mode at all times to provide adequate damping.. maybe, maybe not.

I find sport mode on the EDC feels the best with the H&R Sport springs. Normal and comfort mode, something feels "slightly" off, perhaps that's the rebound?

If u dont have EDC, then get rid of those springs and go coilover. Thats the only way to go. Good luck.

I have coilovers from CROSS but the rear shock was wrong. They sent me other lower links to replace but I'm not sure yet if I want to try them still.

It seems that all the vendors are referring to sport plus springs... but H&R lists those springs (PN 50493-88) as race springs.

Sport Plus is what Turner used to introduce them but it looks like H&R renamed them to the race springs. I find this odd because race springs typically run firmer and lower but in this case, they are the same height with a stiffer spring rate. This is why Turner introduced them as sport plus, they maintained the ride height but offered more direct handling.

I was aware that H&R didn't publish their spring rates, I was hoping though that somewhere on their website they stated something along the lines of "sport plus springs are XX% stiffer than sport springs."

If these were indeed intended to be race springs, I think it would be easier to get an idea of how they ride. With these springs, though, who knows...
