SC a bit jerky when downshifting to a stop

Hey all, I have the ESS 625 kit and noticed the car gives a bit of a jerk when downshifting into 2nd while slowing down (DCT). It doesn't necessarily feel like something is wrong, but it definitely isn't smooth like my upshifts and downshifts when speeding up. So far this is my only complaint with the kit other than one random stall which threw no error codes and was fine after a restart.

Has anyone else had the same experience and is it normal?

Thanks in advance!

I don't really know if this could be the case, but what what software version are you running?

I just bought the kit brand news few weeks ago. It is my understanding that they and the shop that did the install would load the latest software followed by the SC tune.

Talking to Roman now and I'm sure we will get to the bottom of this.

The car kind of revs itself very slightly for the first 10 seconds of cold idle when started, but I figured that was normal. Very short period of time and it consistently does it when very cold.

I believe that has something to do with the "cold start up maps" ... I think. reflashing the ECU with a fresh file might help. I know one member with the 625kit had this issue during cold weather, but we are talking about sub 0 degrees C. In any case, keep up posted on what you'll find out.

Did this issue ever arise before the SC?

I had this happen from time to time on a stock engine, but your driving habits learn to work around it.

It happens to all cars that have had the latest DCT software update.

Has nothing to do with the supercharger, its your transmission. My transmission acted the same both with and without the blower (clunky, jerky). No big deal.

Thank you all for your responses! After hearing them and discussing with Roman, I feel perfectly comfortable. I hafta give a huge shoutout to Roman @ ESS with his extremely prompt responses and eagerness to help his customers. Seems to be a great guy and he really makes you feel at ease with likely the biggest mod you could possible do.

I feel it may be a combination of the tranny not being fully warmed up at times and the ECU not being fully adapted yet. Prior the the SC, I would have a jerky downshift every once in awhile, but I think I'm paying extremely close attention to the way the car is behaving now that I have the SC on the car.

The kit has been performing great other than my concerns expressed earlier, so I will keep you all posted as I put PLENTY of more miles on it

I got the same thing! I have a vt-1 550 kit. Just installed a week ago. During the first 10 cold starts it was idling like a banshee. I believe this is normal. Also I do feel like the car is about to stall almost everytime i come to a stop. It almost hesitates. I have no doubt in the shop that installed since they've installed easily over 50 kits? (give or take). Now I've put another 100+ miles on it and it's working almost better every day.

Drive it in manual mode for a few hundred miles and let the ECU adapt and this will change

The ECU will go thru some adaptation for the first 500 miles or so. The more you drive it the closer it will get to being 100%.
