Wet sanding is a bit extreme and would be required only if compounding & polishing didn't correct the etching. I'll walk you through the process.

Compounding --> polishing --> finishing

Compounding (removes 1500 grit etchings), polishing (removes 2500 grit etchings + swirling), and finishing (brings gloss back to the paint).

If you do decide to go the DIY route, let me know and I'll go a bit more in-depth in the workflow.

Wow lots of stuff, question, would it matter if they already compounded the car?

If the etchings are still there, it wouldn't matter. That means they didn't compound enough to remove the etchings. If you don't feel comfortable with the process, Phil @ Detailers Domain can handle the correction for you.

Yeah this is one stubborn sap bro. Removing it had already cost me an arm and a leg. Hopefully this chemical guy stuff gets it out. I'm avoiding parking underneath a tree at all cost LoL!

I checked out their website, but I couldn't find any pricing and it looks like I may need to leave my car overnight. Would you happen to know the pricing for this kind of job?

Not sure what the price would be, he's a forum sponsor and checks his PMs frequently. I don't think you'd have to drop it off overnight if all you're doing is fixing the one spot with the sap. If you were correcting the rest of the car, that's a different story.

It would be Hood, Roof, and Boot lid. Sounds like it will be a all nighter, I'll PM him see what he says. Thanks for all the help, I'm leaning on doing this myself.
