wheel stud install question

The damn front wheel keeps spinning when I try to torque the stud.
What is the proper way to keep the hub from spinning around other than having someone hold the brake pedal?

Wedge something between the brake pedal and the seat to hold the brake pedal down.

Wedge a long screw driver in the brake vanes against the shock mount or something. You don't need a lot of torque to install it.

I actually just threaded the studs hand tight then held one of the studs to keep the hub from spinning as I torqued them. Turner recomends torquing to 16ft lbs so yeah you don't need much torque at all.

16 ft-lbs. seems way too low. I believe Bimmerworld instructions state 50-70 ft-lbs.

Ask a friend to hold the brake pedal down.

Not sure if this is a bad idea, but depending on the type of studs you are installing, you may be able to do it without taking the wheel off or jacking the car up.

Just replace one wheel bolt with a stud at at time. You should be able to just take a wheel bolt out and stick a wheel stud in it's place. If you're studs have the hex hole in the end of it, you can tighten them up with an allen key.

Hell no. The most I've seen is 30ft-lbs, but most recommend 16ft-lbs.

Correct! 16-20 lb ft for the stud and 88 lb ft for the lug
