DCT Part Number Help
I posted in the general forum a photo of a rusty nut on the linkage to my DCT tranny. I'm trying to source a new nut but it's proving more difficult than anticipated. Jason at GetBMWParts has asked for the part number on the linkage itself.
If anyone is going to be working on their DCT car in the next couple of days and has the transmission cover off, could you please look at the linkage and post the part number on this thread? Notice in the photo below that there appears to be a part number starting with "43...." or something like that. Thanks! [/URL] |

I might just do that but my concern is that it will just rust again. I was wondering whether I could use a rust inhibitor but I know the area gets a bit warm and don't know if a rust inhibitor would tolerate the temperature. |

Forgot to mention, there is a very good rust inhibitor out there brand LPS. It's used on aircrafts and trust me, it will stop the corrosion immediately. It is sold where aircraft materials shops. That's what I used in the past when I worked on planes.

Thanks for the info. I will get a bottle of the stuff to take care of this.
