I hope your right. Another disappointment is Laguna Seca this coming 5/31. It sold out instantly and since it was only for one day it was relegated to area locals.

The problem is that sometimes the events are far and few inbetween. The next local CCA event is at Buttonwillow for one day (Friday). I can't be bothered to drive there for a single day.

Now I'm forced to run around with PCA-SD and a bunch of P-Cars the week after next to get my Chuckwalla CCW fix again

Yeah, an in spite of me he drove very quickly.

The average age of the instructors he had was >60 yrs old, on the first day he had Rich! Little bit of experience between us.

I did use the whip on him a few times to get his eyes up and down the track. I think you saw the results. There's talent there. Just needs a little more tweaking.

I was "made" during the golden years when the region would do 2 weekends at Buttonwillow (one hosted by San Diego, one hosted by Central Cal), one weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, one weekend at Willow Springs, one weekend at Cal Speedway, one weekend at Laguna Seca, one weekend at Sears Point, and one weekend at Thunderhill. There used to be an event every 3-5 weeks if you sprinkle in a few DCI one day-er.

Maybe now that there'll be an ITS and Chuckwallah being financially successful, some of the local chapters will look into adding one more weekend in their annual track schedule.

One can only hope.

I remember those days, including one year when we were offered the LVMS inside (roval) road course with about 1 month (5-weeks) notice. School date was in August. In Vegas. We sold out in about two weeks. Damn near killed the instructors. I remember sitting in pregrid with the AC on and all the vents pointed at my instructor who was just dying. We ran the AC for the warm up and cool down laps. Signoffs were easy to come by that weekend.

Those SS Camaro's are ridiculously fast and have amazing straight line talent. At one of the events at Spring Mountain (SV?) the only time the guy was on the line was when he crossed it. Missing apexes by feet, not inches. Pulled away from me in my E46M3 like I was standing still. Same thing with the new Vettes. Those motors are super strong with a very large area under the torque curve.

Do any group still run over at LVMS anymore? I'd love to go in the non-summer months.

Nope, my non-nannies skill level is not there yet. I ran a 2:10 with full nannies off and 2:02 with nannies on in windy/sandy conditions at the end of March.

I was shocked to find it sold out so quickly.

It's a perfect weekend get-away for me and the missus, she's got a friend coming from SF to spend the day with her on Saturday, while I go waste some gas and tires at nearby Mazda Raceway. Then Sunday we're going to hit some of the local sights, maybe take a detour to Big Sur, and swing by Hearst Castle on the way back (and stop by Willow Ranch for dinner near Buttonwillow).

Not sure if I'm taking the MZ4 Coupe though. Probably will bring the Hyundai instead for comfort.

To be honest, the cost of renting any of the LVMS tracks is pretty prohibitive. I'm not sure they even rent the track inside the oval anymore to clubs. Seems to be the exclusive place to play for car manufacturers or other high $ groups.

Outside road course is fun too. The Audi club used to run there, but to be honest I have no idea anymore...

Damn!!! Sold out already? I cleared my schedule for that weekend too.
Guess I won't be hitting you up to change out the exhaust. The 90 db limit was making me delay signing up.

Probably CVR w/ PCA SD on 05/03 & ACS w/ SV on 05/04. Yea, David will be there at CVR w/ his E46 track beast.

So it looks like the PCA event in May is already sold out. (Not to mention I'd feel like a putz showing up at a PCA event in an BMW and then proceeding to drive like a pace car with flat tires.)

Any idea when the next BWM CCA event will be? (Or at least an event that will be newb friendly?) I am itching to get back out there before I forget everything I learned at Chuckwalla.
