Playing DVDs while in Drive mode.

Hello All,

Long time reader (even before owning an M3), first time post. Does anyone know how to enable DVDs while in drive mode? I am able to play DVDs when the car is in PARK MODE, but once disengaged to Drive - the video is cut but the music/audio keeps playing. As you all know it is illegal to drive with the DVD video on, just curious if anyone has tried to bypass this. Thanks!

Installed the Chip and DVD now works while driving! One question though, once the car turned on, my nav screen starts beeping that says "SOS Calling signal malfunction" Has anyone else encountered this after the installation?

You can purchase a Video Module that will allow you to play Video while driving and you can output the video to external monitors.

Depends if you have a TV tuner fitted in AUS, are you still on analog or have made the switch to digital streaming?

CCC (MY06-08) do not have DVD playback abilities, you will need the VSM module in order to get video on the iDrive screen:

the cic navi can also be coded to play DVDs at all time. Sometime there are free coders

Does this DVD from DVD Guru really work or is it some gimmick? I just watched videos of it and for $150 for 3 min of work that seems pretty steep. How hard is it to code this yourself with the cable and software?

Does anyone know what format the DVD has to be in to replay in the idrive (CIC) DVD inmoton? Yesterday, I tried making a DVD of my favorite music videos to playback in my car but it wouldn't play the MPEG-4 format.

Both ISO and MPEG2 worked for me
