Really glad you're okay and best wishes for a speedy recovery, but to reiterate what others have said, if you have short term memory loss really do get it checked out ASAP.

Sorry to hear. It's a good idea as others suggested to go to your doctor to describe the incident and your recent symptoms. If you have long-term issues the documentation will be complete and insurance should pay out in the future if you need it. You may not need an attorney if the insurance companies (yours and hers) handles this appropriately. There usually is nothing you can gain from suing the driver in these circumstances.

Sorry man. It's good to hear that these cars are about as safe as they can possibly be, but sorry to hear that we are finding out the hard way. Feel better.

Sorry for the loss. Glad It wasn't worse.
Curious though, were you even concerned about your bearings or just a good lead-in...?

I was hard onto the brakes and almost stopped. She slammed right into me in the middle of the intersection doing about 20mph.

All of my airbags deployed. Car won't turn over. Frame Damage. Definitely a total loss.

I hit my head REALLY hard on the glass (3 stitches). BMW Assist called me while I was figuring out whose blood was all over my face (mine) and sorted everything out for me as far as calling dispatch etc.

While it SUCKS that my car is patah, It's ultimately a feather in BMW's cap. I strongly believe that any Honda/Toyota or whatever would have resulted in an ambulance ride for me. The car did it's job, sadly that job was to keep me in one piece while it took the damage.

FML. Drive safe out there guys (and ladies), it seems the world is hell bent on leaving a mark of any sort on our cars.
If all your air bags deployed, how'd you hit your head on the glass?

Glad you are ok.

Incorrect.

That car is not totaled. I can tell you that right now.

Best of luck with repairs, to both you and the car.

Glad to hear you're alright dude.

Couldn't tell you at all if that car is fixable or not. Not really the issue. I wouldn't want that car back fixed anyway. Get the settlement claim and get another one in any case.

One year ago from your crash I slammed my car driving solo into a curb on a rainy night and flipped and spun the car and it landed on its side. Car was a total loss and I looked like I had just gotten ready for prom. Never even had a muscle ache afterwards still to this day. But the thing is, most modern cars are all very safe. I'd have been dead if this were a car from a couple decades ago.

Guy was in an accident show some condolences. And why don't all you 18 year old tool bags that don't even have an m3 go stick a finger up your asses.

Reasons why you don't know what you're talking about:

1. you don't know how many miles are on his car thus its value vs cost of repair.
2. You don't know the severity of damage to electricals under the hood. Which are not always clear.
3. Nor do you know how fucked the suspension is. Looking at the front wheel, they are.
4. Most of all you guys are tools that drive daddy's m3

Op I wish you a speedy recovery and hope you can be indemnified for you losses.

To an aspiring russian, the car is not totaled, lol.

The engine won't turnover.
The undercarriage FAWKED
The front Fender/Hood/Bumper = FAWKED
Front drivers side frame rails = FAWKED
All Airbags save the drivers side curtain = Deployed

It's a total loss.

Here's where it gets good.

The dumbass that hit me had the bear minimum insurance coverage in this state, which is 50k in property damage. My car already exceeds that, LOL. And she hit an Audi S4, WRX STI and Yukon Denali after she hit me.

Thankfully I have underinsured motorist coverage. It was really funny watching her sons car that she wrecked get towed. He couldn't afford the insurance, so he let it get impounded. This idiot lady is going to have a REAL shitty holiday.

I'm actually surprised that was the only one that didn't deploy. Given the area of impact, it would seem that would be the most important to deploy. Also, I had the impression that typically the driver's front airbag only deployed on bumper hits. My wife was in a very serious t-bone accident ~10years ago in a VW GTI, hit in a very similar spot on the car, and both side and side curtain air bags deployed, but front airbag did not. Incidentally, the driver's insurance didn't total it, but should have, since I recovered diminished value, and that plus what they paid in repairs easily exceeded the car's value. And, I ended up selling the car like 2 months after the repair after the driver's side axle, which hadn't been replaced, broke, and the repair shop claimed it had nothing to do with the accident (yeah right).

Anyway, best wishes for a speedy recovery and getting it totalled. With what you've described, I certainly wouldn't want it back. I would suspect you may also be able to get an injury settlement. I was glad we did after my wife had lingering chest pain for years after the incident (likely due to the fact the front airbag didn't deploy, so her chest took the full brunt from the seatbelt).
