What's with the center console? It looks like complete ass. And WHAT IS WITH THE SHIFTER? Is that the new SMG stalk? Awful!
I'm hoping for something along the lines of the M5. Please let it change. The M5 couldn't possibly upstage the M3 (in the fine touches), could it? |

Compare to what we've seen/heard/experienced through many different sources, SMG and interior don't look right.
Though, the redline seems to be promising. |

Interior shot
I just have to say that the interior shot above must be ps, SMG with a clutch? i dont think so. I thought that the whole premise behind an SMG is the convenience of being able to shift your car without the "hassle" of learning to drive a real stick. All I can say is I cannot wait for the OFFICIAL interior shots to surface, or at least spy shots that show some differences from the 3 series to help distinguish.

If you really think the "whole premise" behind the SMG transmission is so you can shift manually without the hassle (hassle in quotes or not) of learning to drive a real stick then you should not be shopping for nor buying a M3. The purpose is to have F1 technology in a street/track car.

No, in my view the whole premise of the SMG is the "auto" mode as it will allow our wives to drive the car if they need to. And certainly those no interested in shifting gears in stop-and-go traffic.

Added benefit, hardly the premise
Again, calling the PREMISE of SMG auto mode for wives and or stop and go traffic is like calling the premise of high horsepower doing burnouts. It is an added benefit far removed from the technologies main purpose and design intention. Sure they are great added benefits but hardly a "premise".
