drives like it's got it's wheels mounted on it's sides...I'm sure it's super fun the on the streets.
Never driven one before...nor any AMG for that matter. Hope I can test one soon, at least a standard civic C63 AMG |

I'm surprised there isn't an E92 M3 in that competition.

I just looked up, and black series is only 20 kg lighter than regular c63, which is a pig=3,900pounds.
Its a joke to pay so much $$$ over c63 w/ tuned engine. Basically mercedes charges $50K for 60hp and wide body kit lol. |

M3 likely wouldnt have been top 5, and def not top 3.
Actually C&D did a best handling car under 100K a couple years ago and the M3 couldnt even place top 3 in that. http://www.caranddriver.com/comparis...n-100k-feature As for orig question, the C63 is a very sharp car, not much less so than the M3. In fact, its steering is a bit better. The Black Series is faster than the M3 GTS on the Ring despite a worse power to weight ratio, so yes, its a very good car. personally, I think the best C63 AMG to buy would be the 2012+ models with the P31. It comes with the LSD and the MCT transmission, and you pay a little up for the 30 extra HP...mostly for bragging rights against a civic C63.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercede...SpeedShift_MCT The C63 had some engine issues as well. Something with the Crankshaft headbolts, cams and valves. No high performance engine is bullet proof. MB actually performed the headbolt fix under warranty, and fixed the issue during production I believe in post-2011 models. http://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w2...ne-repair.html http://www.caradvice.com.au/139550/m...ssible-defect/ http://www.autoevolution.com/news/me...res-38995.html the thread for the headbolt issues are as long as M3post's bearings thread. I haven't driven one but I did get a ride in one. It is quick; certainly quicker than an M3. It was on city streets so I can't say I gained a good sense for how it handles. It sounds great and I love how it looks. The only let down I had was the transmission. It definitely doesn't shift as quickly as DCT. Overall I didn't fall in love with enough to go through the hassle of parting out my car to get one.

i would love to own a C63 AMG 507 or black series one day. that engine is truly one of the best things to come out of Germany these past years.
to bad everyone is leaving that style of engine. |

The e92 m3 never really had great steering feel. It was super boosted at low speeds, was very numb off center and in sport it was a bit too quick and artificially heavy. AMG has improved immensely, producing some very great cars. Fact of the matter is, BMWs best M3 was outdone by a heavier, more comfortable, more GT like C63 Black Series. |
