Smile Warranty approaching an end... Extend?

What is the common thing to do around here besides selling it and getting a newer one?

you have to way your options ... I once purchased a e46 2002 in 2004 with approx. 36,000 KM drove her for almost 6 years. I never extended the warranty and only was faced with one break job. I sold that car last year privately for $25- having 96,000 KM. I had this car inspected before the private sale and one spring was found broken and replaced. Based on the report I then did get my asking price.

So, you need to compare prices, look at your maintenance records perhaps have BMW make a full inspection and tell you what needs to be done or is expected? (you might tell them you plan to sell it and like this inspection report on hand for the potential buyer).

One key factor would also be your way of using and driving your M3 ... i.e. do you track it and if you do you need to read the fine print of the warranty original or extended makes no difference.

Once you done that you can make a sound decision if you like to pay the $ for the extended warranty. Trade her, or sell her and get into a new one etc. Anyway, my 00.02 cents, it's what I would do if I was in your shoes.

Good Luck

Just call your local BMW dealership ... prices may vary ... so why should THE TECH list them ... it only creates confusion I'm sure you agree. If you have to know do make the call ... then you will know

One day your M3 is running great. The next day you hear a horrible clicking noise from the motor. Now do you want to be without a warranty? No brainer really.

What if your car has mods? Even just an exhaust and intake. Will that screw shit up?

I'd get the powertrain 7yrs. Most the other stuff, probably won't go bad and even if it did, won't break the bank. But an s65+DCT will run you $33k.
