Drive the Circuit of the Americas!
Thinking about putting together a group to transport cars down to Austin for a day on the same track Sebastian, Alonso, Lewis, Kimi etc race!
http://circuitoftheamericas.com/visit/track-rental-form Not this year. Shooting for next spring. If you are interested let me know. For now just trying to gauge interest level from NW folks. It won't be cheap. But if we get 50 drivers it will be affordable and we will have lots of track time. Ask yourself this, "Will I be on my death bed and think to myself, I wish I hadn't gone to Austin and beat the hell out of my tires and brakes on The Circuit of the Americas?" __________ |

Man you really go for it! I was thinking of getting group together to go watch the F1 race, from off this site. This is another level. Hope it falls into place. Moneywise doubt I will but sure as hell would be fun.

Well... If I wait for someone else to organize, I might not ever make it!
I think if we can get 50 guys... Cost wouldn't be too bad. I have reached out to Audi And BMW clubs. Plan to do the same with Lotus, Porche, Alfa, etc. Maybe we can pull it together... Maybe we can't. Have to give it a shot! |

Have you looked into the cost to rent the track? corner workers, safety vehicles, ambulance, etc... Insurance? What kind of ball park per person are we looking at?

Not yet. Just getting started on the project. Was hoping to see how many drivers would be interested. Hoping that enough raise their hand that Turn 2 or Proformance would take the lead and organize the event.
I will do some more research and follow up on expected cost. |

Did you get the recent email from Tom? There is an event at COTA on 10/13 for $2500. With cost of travel, lodging, track fees, time off work etc that is way out of my league.

$2500 for one day plus all the other expenses is a little crazy. I am sure there are better options. |

The concept/idea sounds phenomenal, but the cost, likely pushes out of my budget as well

Yeah, let's find 50 car junkies with 10K in disposable income sitting around with nothing better to spend it on than a day trip and like two weeks without their cars due to them being in transport.
It would be more cost effective to fly down before a track day, buy a used M3 of any sort there, beat on it like Rihanna, drive it back up here and sell it. |
