dealer recommendations in the bay area?

Finally decided to upgrade to the 2009 E92 M3. I plan to buy an ordered one within a week or so. Which dealership or associate would you recommend? I got my 08 E90 328i from Mountain View. Thanks in advance!!

If you want to drive an hour and a half north, Prestige in Santa Rosa will probably give you a very good deal. Worth a call to find out.

I've only been to two - Stevens Creek and Allison (Mt View). I wouldn't trust either any further than I could throw them (though my service advisor at Stevens Creek has treated me well). There's still too much money in the bay area so if you don't buy the car, the next guy who walks in will, so they don't really seem to care. I went out of state for two of the new Bimmers my family has purchased, and really the best experience I had was at Tucson BMW. When the e90s came out, my aunt decided she wanted an e46 - dealers here reluctantly offered to match the cars.com price (which was only a few hundred off msrp), I called Tucson BMW, and they immediately knocked a few Gs off msrp and then a few hundo more for our plane tickets down.

I've heard bad things about Peter Pan. My sister bought her '97 e36 M3 at SF and seemed fairly happy.

I'd avoid Mountain View. The sales person I dealt with pulled many of the outdated, traditional car-buying mind games that I hate. I actually found Peter Pan sales people much more....willing, it seemed....to deal. They were more straightforward, too, with their selling. "This car is awesome, you'll love it, etc etc". That's easier to brush off and isn't as distracting. I have yet to settle on a price or actually place the order, but I have a feeling they'll get my business.

Awesome, according to my very rough math, that looks like a bit above invoice. I've been waiting for more confirmation that this sort of pricing has landed in the bay area for ordered M3's. Thanks!

BMW Monterey was pretty good for giving a good price on the car, but service is a major stay away.

I did my shopping at BMW of Fremont. Went back a couple times to do some test drives and negotiations. I laid down what I wanted and everyone was pretty respectful about it. I did have to put in a bit of effort to communicate with the guy that actually sold me my M3 though.

Overall, I would recommend these guys.

I don't take delivery for another couple weeks, but so far my experience with Jim Leavitt, the Internet Sales Manager at Sonnen has been good - got the deal I wanted with no hassle.

Fremont is known as the worst Bay Area dealership - just warning you.

SF BMW is great too "on a good day"... problem with SF BMW is they have too much turn-over and after owning a BMW for a while, it's nice to return to the same sales guy/gal. I've only purchased one BMW at SF... but have had all the BMWs serviced at SF BMW - their service is outstanding IMO.
I thought Koorosh is at BMW of Mountain View? I spoke to him too...he's okay..

DO NOT GO TO BMW Mountain View, i was looking to purchase either a 2008 or 2009 m3, and when i got there they told me there were no differences at all between the 08-09. However, i checked on the internet and found many sources saying it would be slightly different. So i spoke to a dealer in Chico and they told me that there would be a brand new idrive system. So long story short i ended up buying it from the chico dealer. The Mountain View dealer blatantly lied to me and i dont think they deserve more business.

+100 on DONT GO TO BMW Moutina View, they laughed at me when i asked to be on waiting list for 08 M3 back in 2007, they told me to be prepare to pay 15k over th MSRP . Next thing i know i got my 08 M3 from Steven Creek following year without any dealer mock up within only couple month after the M3 launch...

Agree... BMW of Mountain View is the worst of all. I heard stories about their service department stole a customer's car and drove it for 40 miles...

Steve Hill at Stevens Creek is the best, most professional salesman I have dealt with. I have purchased my last 2 BMWs from him. Do not deal with anyone else there.

Fremont are a bunch of crooks.

Thanks. I will definitely talk to him. Does he do ED? Would he go for 500 over ED invoice? Once again, thank you everyone for your suggestions. Can't wait to get one!
