That info does not sounds very reliable to me but of course everything is possible. Hope that RS4 would cost more.
RS4 is actually R622k base not R598k

Not according to the car configurator but nevertheless if really it is R622k base is still less than R640k. M3 base in Germany is 66.650€ and base RS4 is 72.000€ so I doubt that Bmw would cost more than Audi in SA (ok only if you would have well equiped base model that has sense) . I hope for you guys that it will cost less than RS4.

South African M3:

Price about R640 000-00.

NO std EDC or navigation.

Standard features will include:
Xenon lights
18 inch mags
6 disk cd
Rear roller blind……

Options include:
19” mags R17500-00
M drive pack 50-60k (includes nav, EDC and more)
Extended leather R28k
Top of the range sound R19500-00
EDC alone R18 500-00...........
888, thanks for sharing the info.

The standard features are exactly the same as on the E46 ///M3... but I expected BMW to add a few more standard features on the E92 ///M, seeing that the price is now almost R100K more than that of the E46 ///M3... Disappointed is an understatement.

I fail to understand why Navigation is not standard when it is on the E92 335i.

I think the Logic 7 sound will do just fine for most people... the price of that Individual High-End Audio is plain ridiculous.

The M-drive pack might be a good thing to have... I guess we will have to wait and see what else is included in that pack... they better throw in the 19 inch wheels in there... otherwise it might be cheaper to buy the 19 inch wheels, EDC and Navigation separately if the price of the pack is R60K.

Could it be that the E92 ///M will cost around the same money as the Audi RS5 when it arrives, and the E90 ///M3 is the one to be priced close to the RS4? That's the conclusion I can come up with regarding this pricing.

Um why's nav an option? Anyone know if the m pack will have the 19's? Plus are you just guessing for prices or where did you hear them, cause if a fully equipped m3 is gonna be over 700k i think it's really going overboard. Btw didn't that other newsletter from bmw sa say that extended leather was standard? Just wondering

I just had a look at that newsletter. I see that they mention Extended Leather, but I don't see anything mentioned about it being standard.

It would certainly be cool if they made it standard.... but the fact that there is already a price for it suggests that it won't be standard.

BMW never stops to surprise us... I would really like to know BMW's reasons for making Navigation standard on the 335i and not on the ///M3.

I hope they made a mistake while cutting and pasting options that were on the E46 ///M3... because Navigation was not standard there. Hopefully they will realise their mistake and correct it.

Here is to hoping that they will come to their senses and make Navigation standard at launch.

And then add R100k plus premium if you not on the list and want one now ... that list is gonna grow small ... looks like the guy that was at 31 on the list is now in the top ten

+1 ... i will find it stupid to see a 335i and a m3 next to it ..m3 has no nav while the 335i does ... i mean the high end s
audio is not available for the 335 ... guess we have to wait and see ...

but im loving this m3 ... more i see it in the pics and videos the more i like ... mirrors are also growing on me ... think i might change my combo of choice and go white on fox red ...

Remember his list is still unconfirmed

Hopefually they will allow us to make the E90 M3 here, and then it will be a lot cheaper

Remember
E92 335i made in germany = R505,000
E90 335i made in SA = R415,000

Is idrive standard? I am hoping not, much prefer the non idrive dash, have been driving a 645 and would much prefer manual radio controls.

Yep, agreed Fleet... I guess I must try and calm down and wait for the official pricing .... what's taking them so long?

I'm just worried that his list might turn out to be correct.

Let's hope they make the E90 ///M here as well, and at a similar price reduction as in the E92 335i vs E90 335i.

Yep, a fully loaded ///M for under at that price would be awesome...

I think the shell will be the same, except for the M-specific panels and suspension components.

The good thing about all of this possible price difference is that those who will buy the E92 ///M will enjoy some sort of exclusivity as most people will go for the E90 ///M.

I suspect iDrive will be standard. In all the spy photos I have seen, the new ///M seems to have iDrive.... I could be wrong though.

If I remember correctly, the 5 series has iDrive standard in all cars, but Navigation is not standard. I think they just disable the "Navigation" menu on iDrive.

Also, the standard options list on the 5 series include CarKey memory and Central locking with featues that are programmable via iDrive. Since these features are standard throughout the 5 series range, I would expect iDrive to be standard.

Was at Alberante BMW, they told me R670k base price, but thats unconfirmed ... the sales person certainly did not hesitate when coming out with that figure ... but did make a point to say that it is "unconfirmed" ... anyone with a proper price yet?

Wow... so the estimates get worse... well, at least when they finally release the figure I will be prepared for the worst.

maybe they decide to make it even worse and go: "If the people can afford R670k lets round it off to R700k ... whats R30k extra?" ... LOL .... i will expect the worse from BMW ... they don care if we paying through our noses for these cars ... and somehow they know people will still buy their cars, but its unfair

I'm just sick of being shafted by the car manufacturers. When the E46 M3 was launched, it cost around R365000 , then it hiked up to currently where it is/was at R545000. The reason for this was due to the Rand/Euro exchange rate being at almost 12. But that exchange rate has since dropped to 9, but the car price hasn't..WHY BMW ??

No way I'm going to pay around R650K for an M3...even if I did have the money...logic and reason must prevail, but I guess its the snob appeal that we South Africans prefer..

BMW in SA was nothing (same as Audi)...only until after they launched the 3 series that shot them to fame

Just one question, if the general speed limit's are 60km'h ( urban ), 120km'h ( freeways ) , what is the purpose of having such performance cars ? Can someone please, please explain this to me ? Unless you have money to enrich the state coffers ??

+1 ... Agree with you Anees ... totally ... R100k over the price of the E46 ... they must be loco ... and true to really enjoy a performance car, it has to be tracked, but BMW will complain and take away your motorplan if you do. So BMW is selling you a performance car which you really cant enjoy.

BMW is taking advantage of the situation that we are a BMW crazy nation ... pretty much all the exclusive BMW's have waiting lists ...

Yep...crazy nation right..paying R650K for something you can't really enjoy.

can't drive it fully on the road...you get traffice fines..jailed..or vehicle confiscated by authorities..

can't drive it on the track..'cause BMW will take away the motorplan
