Challenge GT Front Lip - Needs Paint

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
SOLD!

I just came back from goldRush Rally and well its time to pay some bills.

I'll start by addressing a few things:
  • The lip will likely need to be repainted gloss black now as there are thousands of very tiny rock chips (They may be able to be fixed, but I don't want to promise that)
  • A few months back the lip hit the ground and cracked a bit of the underside, to repair the lip I dremeled off the broken section on the underside and sanded it smooth. When mounted on the car you can not tell that anything is missing at all
  • I am located in Hightstown, NJ (08520) and work in Teaneck, NJ 07666 (Near the GWB) - we can do pick up at either, or I can try to meet you anywhere in NJ
  • In the pics you'll see some double-sided tape, if you'd like I can remove that with some goo gone before you pick up the lip

And here are the pictures:

The lip retails for close to $1,200, which is what I paid at Auto Couture Motoring (who ordered the lip direct from IND), due it it needing some paint I am asking $500 OBO

Feel free to text me at (908) 216-7663 for the fastest response. I'm free all day today if you'd like to meet up.

Not really looking to ship as I don't know where I could find a box that size. If you want to speak to ACM, I'd happy to drop it off there and have them ship it to you.

Not to be a di*k, but they shop is a bit out of the way for me and heading out there would add roughly another at least an hour to my commute. I totally understand where you are coming from, but I simply cannot make the trip out there unless you are a confirmed buyer.

The lip is as described, it mounts up to the car perfectly and when on the car you can not tell that a thing is wrong. The only visible damage are the 1000's of tiny rock chips - but that of course will be fixed with a coat of paint.

I would say stripping the clear coat or even just a good wet sand and polish should remove about 80-90% of the visible chips, however there are a handful of deeper ones.

If this is the route you want to go I would say fill the <10 larger chips with gloss black touch up paint before you begin the wet sanding/paint correction process. That way what you are left with is even.
