Isn't not having a flash somewhat of a big issue for people? Just curious as I am looking into a tablet but have been looking towards the transformer prime/infinity. I don't have a tablet currently so it would be my first one.

Anyone that claims they can't see a difference should see an optometrist. Just put an iphone 4 next to an ipad and the difference is obvious.

It really depends on what you're doing with it. I mainly web surf or play games on the train and this is the perfect device for that. On the commuting trains, I would say more than 50% of the people are using ipads. I bought it just to buy it last summer and am shocked by the use the thing gets. It sits on the table like a piece of paper and if I want to check something out while I'm watching TV, I pick it up. I also use it in meetings at work. It's hard to explain but a netbook is cumbersome in comparison.

Personally, I wrote my entire doctoral dissertation on my iPad 2 because my 15" MBP was on the fritz. I found it easier to type on that, than on my gf's Dell Vostro A90 (a netbook) for a long period of time. Not to mention that Pages on the iPad was better than Word in Windows. The only thing that bothered me on the iPad 2 was the lower resolution display... I'm glad the iPad 3 improved that.

A few years ago I bought my mom a Dell netbook for her birthday. It was neat at first, but after a while it started having multiple software/hardware issues. After spending time fixing it over and over, I bought her a Kindle Fire for Christmas this year. She loves it. Way better than that netbook.

iPad 2 next to an iPad 3, if you weren't aware that one had a better screen, would you ever notice it? This is the key question and im pretty sure for most people the answer will be no. |

You're completely wrong. I had my iphone4 for a few months before I played with an ipad for the first time. Literally the first words out of my mouth were that the screen is not as crisp. Granted, you're comparing an already crisp screen to an extremely crisp screen, but there is an obvious difference TO ME.

At this point, if price isn't your concern, best solution is a very powerful 15" desktop replacement laptop / attached to separate desktop settings (monitors, keyboard, mouse) + tablet. This of course is if you don't need a desktop. I would notice it, but I'm a electronics freak. I see what you are saying though, and I agree to an extend that; if both were displayed in a store side-by-side and I'm 5ft away, I wouldn't be able to tell.

What do you want me to do? Take pictures and show you? Look it up yourself.
They have different layouts, different designs, and more. Some of them are practically different apps. It's not just a stretched out version of the phone app.

There is an HDMI, however its part of an accessory dongle that you have to buy separate. I've had one for ages for when I take my iPhone or iPad to a friends' house that doesn't have an Apple TV. |

Yeah...I'm really disappointed there is not USB or SD card slot. If it had thouse, it would be a lot more useful for photographs, and have expandable storage capacity (which is why I'm sure those features aren't there)

Could be mistaken though.... The ipad made a lot more sense to me when i looked at it for what it is.... a large iphone without phone capability. When it's just to surf the web or check something out you just saw on TV or as a remote for my itunes and apple TV it makes sense. When you can put a shit ton of photos, music & movies on it as well the price stats to be justified. I've never shared so many photos before. I just pull up apple tv on the ipad and share from the ipad or my computer. Have ALL my pics right there for easy viewing.

that's the problem, it should be standard features....not something apple should sell as an accessory....
