E92 m3 blown engine

So my engine just blew@59000miles

Engine oil always on time, added when needed. 98fuel only(93 in US)
STOCK!! just an exhaust. No track'ing the car. Ofcourse redlining sometimes as everybody

No faults,no nothing on the screen before that, no sinctoms of engine, any. Went to autobahn from other connecting road, 3rd gear full throttle and at about 6Krpm loud clicking noise, and 2sec latter white smoke in the rear and engine shut down. Oil all under the car, smoke from under the hood, a lot of smoke....

will update with photos later...so sad, so sad and so unexpected. Could'nt sleep all night thinking of what was hapened

I understand if it was S/C'ed or some shitty ECU,but now - well maintained stock engine. Never mis-shifted(6MT), and i know how to drive

Did you use the stock air filter or do you have a aftermarket gauze type?
Sorry to hear about it though. Hope they take care of you.

Stock and no tracking, huh?

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=448631

I see here speeds in excess of 300 kmh, and a lot of street racing....

I feel sorry for what happened to you, and was really concerned that a stock car can have a blown engine so early, as my M3 is really stock...my concern now started to fade away though.

The car came delimited from factory, the engine is standart. And those kind of races you don't do everyday.

This is what the car was designed to do. I didn't see any abuse or misuse on these videos (which were pretty cool) so I'm still wondering why the blown engine. His mods are basic and the car looks well-kept. Real track time is far far more grueling than a few blasts to the top end.

Having said that, I am quite disappointed that the Evo pulled on him.

It's a sports car, not a Prius. He obviously bought the car to drive it, not putz around to the grocery and back. Occasional street racing and brief times at very high speeds should be fine if the motor is stock, it was designed for that.

It just sounds like a 1-off issue to me. BMW will probably replace the engine so long as they determine it was not caused by an aftermarket part or some tune messing up the A/F ratio.

Oh yea, a day at the track is way way more abusive on the car. You're basically redlining the engine over and over again for 20-30 minutes at a time.

Wow, that EVO must have had a modified gear box to do 180mph. I'm surprised his M3 didn't run the EVO down sooner. Granted they offer higher end EVOs in Europe than they do here so maybe it had some different gearing from the factory.

+1.

Who cares.

He obviously doesn't have any major mods done to the car.
I think he means "stock" - not S/C'ed.

I'm curious to see why this happened. Very rare...

Hope you get it fixed without major headaches... mine was build 10.2007 so I hope this is not issue...

Regarding the Evo pulling on the M it doesn´t surprise me one bit... 440 horsepower wich is more or less the same as the bimmer but with considerably less wheight... of course it is gonna pull away even if you take 4WD into consideration.
