Fox Red Novillo not available with Silverstone II?

That's what I hear from my dealer....maybe it's a good thinkg since SSII has a greenish tinge to it. Has anyone seen this color comobo?

Your dealer is a moron. Yes, you can get it.

He's a moron and please be sure to let him know we think so and show him a few pics. If you search on Silverstone you'll see hundreds of examples.

The "greenish" hue exists but only under indoor (parking car) lighting. It's mostly silver and under overcast, light blue. It in no way clashes with the FR interior.

My 2011 in this combo. These are NOT my pics.

This seems to be a fairly common issue! I wonder if the OP is leasing. If he is, perhaps BMWNA has some color combinations flagged as being "unusual" (for lack of a better term) and they want dealers to discourage these orders as it makes the resale after the lease is up more difficult. Just a guess...

Just a guess, but a bad one. Lease or buy, they couldn't care less. Plenty of leases from BMWFS in this combo.

Yes, I will be leasing.

He's a good advisor (I've bought 2 other cars from him), and definitely not a moron (he's quite good at Euro Delivery)....it's likely the system rejected him adding the color. Of course, I can push back on this or even look at the two-tone seats that will be availalble with sept builds (black/red, black/silver). Would be good to see pictures of the blac/silver first (black/red is on the frozen gray cars).

I just checked the latest 2011 M3 borchure and sure enough it shows only two interior options are avlaible with SSII - Black and Grey. Hmmmm....

Got to say the color options on the M3 (especially the exterior ones) are really poor. You can get more options on a 335....and I dont want to pay $5k for a special order color on a lease

Fair enough but it is strange that SA's are telling buyers this combo is not available...

I don't know what else to say, they're all over the US.

As far as the brochure is concerned I'm puzzled a well. Take two seconds and try to b
"build one" on BMWUSA website like I just confirmed is doable. The system couldn't have rejected the color.

Big Hat: Any more pics of your ride? I'd love to see more

BTW: I've already locked in the price for my car and have my allocation for European delivery. I have about a month until I need to lock on final colors. I hated selling my E46 M3 coupe last year....happy to be getting my "M" back!

and man....these lease rates are amazingly good. Less than $800/month with no money down, fully loaded with 12k miles/year (yes, I had to max out the MSDs).

Tnx

When I get home I can post my pictures. These above, as noted, belong to others that lead me to go with this combo so I had them downloaded while I waited for mine to arrive.

Congrats on the rates. In Jan/Feb they truly sucked, so I just bought mine. Normally, I like to lease as it somewhat forces me to least go a couple of years between flipping, but the terms were impossible back then. Assume they were still worried about the economy and hedging their bets excessively.

August residuals for the E93 are at 66% for 3 years with a money factor of .0018. Super good. Figure in euro delivery pricing and its a great time to get one. Actually less $ than a loaded 335is convertible.

There is nothing else to say, I am well aware there are many cars with those options. I'm also aware that you can build them that way on the website. But the fact remains that many sales people are under the mistaken impression it is not possible. That is simply what I'm getting at. This is not simply one uninformed sales person...

To the OP, a great deal on a sweet car!

I can't say I blame them, it's not a very appealing color combination...

when I bought my SG M3, that particular color combo sat on the showroom floor for months because a customer ordered it then backed out. The salesperson said that it appeals to some but not all people.

I have an E90 in SSII with Fox Red. When I went to order the car the dealer did not have any trouble ordering this color combo. I also am leasing. I think the combo looks great and it is not something you see all the time like AW/Black or Black/Black.

The launch sedan for the southeast was SSII/FR so it would be odd that BMW suddenly decided that color doesn't work.

There is a hint of blue under certain lighting but no green. I've gotten many compliments on the color from NON car people as well as car guys. I think its stunning in person.

When I ordered my SSII via military sales in 2009, Fox Red and Bamboo would not "recommended" by BMW, as printed in a brochure at the dealer.

I ordered Bamboo and love it. The local German dealer had a E90 in the FR/SSII as well. At least this was for 2009......
