Finally got gas

Was an even numbered day for me and even though I got 7/11 premium gas (car feels like it ate junk food) I'm glad that I no longer have to drive in D and constantly hit 7th gear : I'm back to revving past 4k rpm and downshifting like its my job

I would try and avoid getting gas until all of these shortages die down..dont like the fact that they may be stirring the bottom of those storage tanks and dragging up potential contaminants which could end up in your fuel filter or engine

I've thought the same thing. Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not putting crap into your tank...

We filled up all of our cars, too.

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not following you. (Common phrase.)

Paraphrasing for comic effect, using the subject of this thread: Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not putting crap in your tank--the sludge in the bottom of the stations' storage tanks. (Laughter is supposed to follow.)

Hello everyone, I am on Long Island and Premium gas is almost impossible to find. Anyone familiar with the negative effects of using regular gasoline in our engines? I had about 1/4 of a tank with premium gas when i topped the car with regular gasoline from Gulf. The manual sais temporary use of lower octane gas is ok but im still worried...

I dont think its terrible... but I wouldn't go out of my way to run it longer than I had to ... had an 02 325ci that we ran regular in for 80k miles with no problems.. traded it in for a clk350 convt

In NJ I've had no problem my first try getting gas(sat, first odd day). I waited 30 minutes and hear people waiting even less. People are finally calming down from their panic and hoarding state. Recreational drivers rejoice!

In my area people are still hoarding gas like apocalypse is coming soon. Was trying to wait till the panic is over. Now I am a little worried with this Noreaster storm coming our way. says gusts up to 70mph! More trees down....

Luckily I still have like 100 miles on the M but my other cars are getting low..so wack right now on the east coast. Still, we should be grateful that our main concern is gas and some people are living in shelters b/c their homes and lives got destroyed.

If all you have is regular then stop by the auto parts store and pick up some octane booster. Add it in the tank and you're good to go.

Had to fill half the tank with 87 octane the other day. The M just slurps it like water. What a big slump in MPGs. Still revving it. If anything, can't wait to burn out the lower grade out of tank.
As mentioned, just glad this is our issue and not homes, health, etc.
