2008 iDrive DVD noise
I have good ears and one of the things I've noticed is that I can hear my NAV DVD spinning / accessing the data as I drive down the road with the radio off. Full disclosure it seems louder with my burned copy of the new 2012 maps rather than an OEM 2008 DVD. It's not obnoxiously loud but it's like a little mouse noise and gets to the point I eject the DVD. Not sure if any of you 08 drivers noticed or were bothered by this or not....

I would suggest to try using a Verbatim DVD+R disc if not already.
