I have no clue the dimensions of my car. In my garage I have fishing wire with tennis balls attached to the ends of em hanging from my ceiling so when the windshield touches the ball, I stop and never hit the storage boxes in front. I used to stop my other cars by touching the boxes with my front bumper but this is an M. So I devised the tennis ball thing

What the hell, what kind of gay law is that makes it illegal to back into a parking spot? I always combat park!

It's so that the LEO & parking enforcement can quickly tell whether the registrations are current or not.

I beached my 1er at the dealership last week by these stupid things. Front PDC was on but gave no warning!

At least the SR was kind enough to lift my front up while i reversed out

Hate them with a passion.

I hear you, I park far away from the stores then take a little walk. This way I can park way at the end and solve all them scrape problems. Do give it a try. If your wife is with you, drop her then park and join her later. You will see you sleep better at night also it's good for your health to take that extra walk

I sympathize with you. I would bet that most of the people replying to your post have scraped the front lip on something.....I am super anal, and was extremely careful, yet was not used to such a low front end. Scraped my lip on one of those ridiculous cement bumpers, although it was in the winter and it was covered by snow. I haven't done anything like that again, so perhaps there's hope for you too.

I found out how to park the hard way. Had a 66' 427 replica Cobra from Lone Star Cobra. Drove by myself to lunch...parked in front of restaurant. After lunch a bud wanted a ride back to work. He weighed in at about 250. The extra weight of the passenger caused the front end to drop a little. As I fired her up...ready to back out of parking several people were watching as I ripped the front end off my Cobra. Seems the parking block got hung up on the front end and i did not notice until it was too late. Very expensive and embarrassing mistake. I always back into parking!

This is retarded. Why are you trying to get so close to the parking stop? leave more room than needed....solved. I'll send you my bill in the mail.

How about when u parallel park Next to a curb that is kinda high and ur passenger opens the door to get in just fine with maybe about half an inch worth of clearance from your door to the sidewalk, the sit in, and whack, your door hits the sidewalk. Then, to add insult to the injury, your friend then tries to close the car door pulling and scrapping it for several inches while u sit there an listen to the grinding noise.... Oh yea, how bout that one?

Mirror matching can help, but what if there are no other cars parked there. Just need to feel it....not that hard to do.

I for one am not a fan of PDC. I think it's terribly annoying. Maybe on a big SUV it might be warrantied, but otherwise get that stuff out of here.

Because if u leave too much room , your ass is gonna stick out more than the rest of the cars who hug the stop. Then when they back out to leave, ur rear gets whacked
