No rattles here mate, take that shit in ASAP. That's why you have the coverage from BMW, use it mate. I can't stand rattles!!! To the point where I will pull over should one arise so I deff would go out of my mind driving your car it sounds. I totally understand your frustration mate, something costing this much should absolutely work 100% and some. Take it to BMW, have your tech drive with you in the car, don't let them "try" to replicate the issue on their own as we all know how that goes.
Keep us informed how it goes mate, I want to hear you win this battle over the little gremlins in your car Oh and if you are reading this and you live in Europe or further east, Happy New Year

It's unfortunate, but some get lucky and get a solid car and some don't. We pay a heavy price for the superior handling of a stiffly sprung car. And road surfaces play a big part too as the overall loosening up of the vehicle is cumulative.
I used to own a 996TT which has one of the stiffest suspensions in a road car ever (besides the GT3). That car accumulated more rattles than I ever imagined, which I tolerated since they were mainly drowned out by my modded exhaust, until the windshield area developed a nearly constant loud squeek. Dealer spent 2 days trying to find it and failed. I lived with it for 2 more years and finally sold it for this (and several other) reasons. |

I hear the rattles and cracking noise from behind the drivers door on my sedan...maybe it is due to less insulation for weight purposes... I had an 08 335i sedan and it didn't rattle one bit... who cares it is just part of the M experience

I have 995 miles in mine and I have only one creak coming from rear seats...more like a plastic thing hitting another. I think it's the seat belt plugs hitting plastic, but hard to confirm while I'm the only one in car. So I'll move it around and go for a drive later.
I had a horrible noise coming from a speaker that sounded like it was blown when music hit some lows. I went crazy until I have some bank receipts hovering on top of my speaker under my pass seat. Good luck OP

11,000 miles and no rattles but I get the occasional noisy diff when turning slowly on a cold start. It goes away after a few minutes.

Only one creak in mine, up in the center air vent, only audible above a certain speed (doesnt seem to be road dependent)... baffling! Think the mechanical noise and the intake sounds from the engine usually drown it out on most occassions.

It rattles more in cold temps (less than 40F). I'd say mine rattles 50% of the time, mainly from the instruments cluster but the other 50% it's a nice ride. Hay, I'll take it

Remove the half-full package of "Tic Tac" from the glove box! Trust me I also repaired my wifes car this way...
Sorry for that, but I do not have any rattle on my M3... |

I have this same noise. Its like someone is crunching up paper inside the speaker. I had it on my 335i, exactly the same crackling noise.

after driving the 328i coupe around some of the very same surfaces that i hear rattles on the M3, i feel like the interior sounds must be caused by a way stiffer suspension and 19s vs the stock 17s on the 28. I mean, both cars are EXACTLY the same inside and most likely built the same way....so i can only attribute the quietness of the 28 to its softer suspension.....i think the shocks are absorbing most of the road impact before it can get inside the cabin whereas on the M, it just goes striaght up the pillars...im no mechanic, but this is what i speculate causes all the interior noises

Surprisingly My 07' 335i with sports suspension (stiff) and 54k miles on it has no audible rattles even tho I park in a multi level structure with 4 speed bumps every floor (I live on the 3rd floor). It even got rear-ended but no rattles at all.
My 911 has terrible rattles...that I can't pin point. I barely even drive her. That said, it shouldn't be a big deal for any sporting car enthusiast. These aren't Lexus' or large Mercs with floaty hydrolic suspensions. I am thinking it is the luck of the draw. If you want the rattles gone, I suggest some precision use of dynamat or something similar (WD-80 might work too) |

March 2009 build E93 with 13K miles with no current noises. I do not drive it in winters... so frost heaves in the road to worry about.
I did have a loose underboy pan which a screw fixed (one fell out evidently). The caused a rattle above 65 MPH, that sounded like it was coming from the passenger seat. Other than that, the car seems pretty damn solid. I hope that you concerns are remedied quickly!

I got the same clicking rattles from my navi (or somewhere around there), AFTER I took the car back from the dealer... And because the rattle occurs in cold weather, it was hard for the tech to replicate later in the day... If you find a quick fix for the navi part, let me know....
I just give up the rest of the rattles noise... My last Honda Civic Hybrid had almost 90k miles WITHOUT a single rattle, LITERALLY. Sigh... |

My toy scion with 120k miles on it I've driven off road and not one since sound inside the cabin. Dead quiet. My car was assembled half assed. What am I going to do? Take it back to the dealer and let them rip it all apart and put it back together again and come back with twice as many rattles I have on the list? Argh.... |

When the car is revving at 8000RPMs all rattles go away......I drove much quieter cars in the past, but I consider the M a race car...I wonder how much a F1 car rattles
