1 qucik question about m3 gearing.

Hi guys,

What rpm do you have on tachometer in the 6th gear, driving at 100kph(60mph) and 120kph(75mph)
I feel like M3 should have a little taller 6th gear.

I am in the process of deciding between M3 and 335is. Leaning towards M3 at the moment Still have time to change my order for M3. I wish that M3 would have better gas mileage.
M3 felt a lot more substantial and better put together than 335is. Not that 335is is badly made just felt a little different. Decisions, decisions...

M3>335iS

Tuned N54 335i > 335iS

335iS> N55 335i

at 80mph in DCT 7th gear, I'm at 3100 miles.

I don't drive at 60 for a period of time so I don't know

I am looking for 6 spd manual. I see that DCT 7gears are very close to each other.

If you are worried about gas milage, M3 is not for you!

I have seen only 1 of them (in which case I had followed the guy for 5 miles to see how the car was going) in tri state area all this time. You could probably lease an M3 for an extra $100/month or maybe less (lease).
I see them all the time over here

It's a great car, don't get me wrong

But it's not M3...

I would take my previously tuned 335i over the 335is.
Faster, handles better, and cost the same...

But yeah the exhaust on that car is amazing

BMW did it to milk more money out of the N54 engines that were still left :P

Brotherly advice, do not get an M3 if you give any Sh$t about MPG. the reason is enjoying the M3 and MPG are conflicting subjects. To enjoy driving the E9x you'll need to keep it above 4-5k which will kill MPG so if your brain is gonna annoy you to up shift for sake of MPG while driving it'll feel like drinking a beer and not enjoying it cause you're afraid of becoming alcoholic.
I'm a DCT guy and I can tell you that the 7th is very tall.
