I think most of the lore on this comes from metal tanks on 25+ year old cars for sure

I use fuel system cleaners from time to time. I time it so it goes in with a full tank on the return trip of a road trip where I would soon be due for an oil change. The entire tank is full, the detergent goes in, and the entire tank is depleted, and sometimes filled with fuel again and part of that gets used.
I have never had fuel system problems on any of my cars.

Disclaimer; this is just my weird method of doing things and it makes me feel good.

New Bosch injectors for these cars are $87 shipped each. New coils are $67 each. Don’t pay list prices at dealers unless you have to.

Who did you end up using?

Let me know if you need an injector clip...I have a bunch of extras from parting out four S54s. Should be the same part.

I bailed because lazy and want to drive the car again
I found it and got it out. After panicking. It was under the TA I had to fish it out with a very long magnet very carefully

I've never ever seen a tank in these cars that had debris or buildup of any kind inside. Our plastic tank systems stay very clean. The sock on the pump pickup will catch any larger debris and the screens on the injectors will catch the small stuff.
Resurrecting an old thread, but had the same experience when changing my fuel pump recently. Absolutely no dirt in the tank.
