S2K back to NA or run e90 M3 ...
So I'll be driving mostly at Lime Rock. Plan to do at least 10 sessions next year around the northeast. Should I convert my highly modified s2k back to NA or sell it for a major loss and put the money into a set of high end coilovers, big brake kit, and race tire/wheel set? It's an E90 so it's a bit heavier. I'd also consider a roof rack to bring the tires for the track. The other idea is its only 7k miles so I could sell it all, just get a p car, and convince the wife my 18month old can sit in it with the car seat.

You don't need all those mods to run the E90 at the track. Just a set of wheels, tires, camber plates and good brake pads. With good driving, you'll be able to outrun the vast majority of cars. Further, 4 track wheels comfortably fit in the back seat, so no roof rack is required.

Yeah, converting the S2000 to a track car seems the best option.
Maybe it's all already done, but check into roll cage and hard top requirements for various groups. Some are funny about convertibles but I'm sure there is a way to make an S2000 meet any groups requirements. Having said that, this thread makes me miss my S2000. I love my M3 on the track, but I bet the S2000 would have been a blast and cheaper to run. |

Coming from an S2000 will make an E90 feel like a boat on the track.
