Anyone seen/got Palladium Silver????
Hi,
I have recently ordered an E90 M3 in jerez black and have just changed the interior colour from black to palladium silver with carbon leather trim. I have not seen the colour in person and would like some feedback from anyone who has seen it in the flesh or who has this colour. Would you order it again, experiences etc. Also as it is hard to capture the true colours of some interiors in photos is the pic below a true reflection on how it looks in person? Many thanks! |

the color in that photo looks pretty accurate. The silver interior looks like a grey with very slight hints of blue

My 335i has oyster leather which is very light and it still looks immaculate so this does not concern me at all, it is more the fact that i havent seen the colour in the flesh and only have a week if i want to change my mind. Would like to hear from anyone who has lived with this colour and find out if they have any regrets/wished they had gone for FR, black etc.

As long as you didn't get the extended, I think it looks good. I think it's actually darker than in the pic. I've got PS and haven't seen a photo yet that is very accurate. Of course it all depends on the lighting. I agree that it has a hint of blue in bright light, but then it turns more gray the darker it gets.

I have extended PS. I didn't think I would care much from the pictures I had seen, but as soon as I saw in real life I loved it. The picture above is fairly accurate, but I haven't seen a pic yet that captures the real essence of the color. CF leather trim goes great with PS too. I would think aluminum trim does too but I haven't seen that combo IRL yet.
The interior of this car really needs something other than all black. Fox red is pretty good looking too, but stands out a bit more than PS. Bamboo beige looks more upscale. Some don't care much for this in as sporty a car as the M3. The Palladium Silber is just right. Cheers.

I have a dedicated kiddie mobile with black leather, so the M3 will not be a DD. In fact, if history is any predictor, I will only put 2k km/yr on the M3 anyway, so no biggie. Besides, the PS matches the BMW child seats much better. It also feels a lot cooler (temperature wise) here in sunny Singapore. Not an issue for the OP of course. Go Dave and Nick. |

Still unsure as to whether the colour is a light or dark grey as i have seen so many different pics that show both - if it is light grey then i will go for it but a dark grey doesnt do it for me at all.

I'd call it a light gray. I don't see how anyone could call it a dark gray. But then, when talking shades everyone has their own idea.
Cheers.

Under natural light, Silver is really blue-grey. The blue is more apparent than in the picture above. It's not really darker than in the picture, but it's more saturated. IMO it's a perfect match for SSII, and it also goes well with IB and LMB, but I'm not sure it would look great with Black.

I switched from FR to PS last second after seeing a picture of AW w/ PS online. I love the color combo in person.... Here is a pretty crappy pic of my int under pretty intense sunshine in Munich.

Looks great, gives the interior a light airy feel and matches the carbon trim perfectly - think i'll stick with the PS, its a shame that BMW only offer 4 interior colours as standard for the M3, a bit more choice on an expensive car would be welcome.

Thanks for using my picture
That one was taken in a garage with low light conditions. This one below is taken outside with overcast: The color is really a mix of blue, gray, and silver, and like Interlagos Blue, the hue is slightly different under different lighting conditions. I thought I won't like it at the beginning, but I did ultimately fall in love with the color. Just FYI, I came from an Alpine White on Coral Red E92 335xi prior to the M3.

No problem. I am more than happy to help. I see that you are in Europe, so the seat bottom in John's and my car is more representative of what you would get, unless you are getting a US-spec car from Military sales.
In stock form, the M3 is a much more well-balanced car than the 335xi. Turn-in is more crisp and the understeer with the X-Drive system is no longer present. I was driving through some winding twisties this morning and the car feel like it was glued to the ground (I have AC Schnitzer springs on though). It was really fun this morning trying different gears in the turns, but still maintaining posted speed limits (it was between 25-30mph with a lot of slalom type curves).

Yes, supposedly the spring rates are designed to work with EDC.
