E90 M3 Debut - Chicago Auto Show

It appears the sedan will be debuted at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show, Feb 8-10.

http://www.chicagoautoshow.com/vehic...image_number=1

They better have the coupe there as well!! Prices too, if not already released.
I plan on being there.

Yeah, saw that. I just wonder what Chicago means by debut though.

They should have both cars in Chicago until they drag them over to Detroit. I too am confused about debut since both cars were at LAIAS unless they meant the E93 M3 (but?)

What you talking about? The Detroit show is in January.

They won't use Chicago to debut the price. Detroit is the perfect timing and the larger venue.

I doubt there will be a pricing at the Detroit show.

I think the pricing will be released independently.

I have not been, I live on the west coast, but surely you don't think of it as bigger for announcements and a larger venue than detroit do you? Detroit is considered the most prominent show in the US even more so than the LA auto show. Have you been to the LA auto show?

How do you know the size if you haven't been to either?
Also, Detroit is no longer seen as the most prominent US show. Hence why other car manufactures have stopped going there.

Chicago is the largest auto show in the US by square footage. Not quite in prominence yet.

So are you asking the dates of the 2008 New York Auto show?

Searching Google took literally 3 seconds, and it revealed it will take place from 21st March until 30th March. How difficult is that?

I have been to both Detroit and Chicago Autoshows multiple times. Most of the time Detroit was less impressive unless you are a Big 3 fan (Chrysler, Ford, or GM) each of which are headquartered in/near Detroit. Here's a good summary of the Chicago Auto Show:

BMW will debut the X5D and 335D (as well as the X6 & 1-Series Convertible) at the Detroit show this year. It will be good for BMW to finally have some diesels in our market.

I was not going by size as in physical size, as in prominence. The auto show totem pole goes like this: Detroit, LA, then Chicago.

Quote:
The first auto show occurred in Detroit in 1907 at Beller's Beer Garden at Riverside Park and was held there every year except 1943-1952. It was renamed the North American International Auto Show in 1989. Since 1961, it has been held at Cobo Center where it occupies 1 million square feet (93,000 m²) of floor space. The show is particularly important because the Metro Detroit area is the location of the headquarters of the Big Three American automakers, Chrysler, Ford, and General Motors.

The NAIAS was long the only auto show in the United States sanctioned by the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d'Automobiles, however since 2006 the Greater Los Angeles Auto Show was recognized and, starting in 2007, the Chicago Auto Show was as well.
Sorry, I know you are proud of chicago and all but the chicago show is nowhere near the status of Detroit. It isn't even near LA. It is a nice little show for people in Illinois

Geneva is a much smaller show than Frankfurt, but Geneva is widely regarded to be the premier motor show in the world.

You clearly stated you were talking about physical size in your previous posts. Stop contradicting yourself. It is making you look quite foolish.

Nice attempt at being cute.

I agree. I have even flown over from Europe to go to the Detroit motor show.

Far more car enthusiasts in Europe have heard of the Detroit motor show, whereas most will not even know there is even a motor show in Chicago.
