Just weird

2008 M3E90 here. I was pulling out my driveway and suddenly "increase emission" popped and then the SES light too. Gas was 1/4 level and never had a warning light to fill up. I thought I would give it a day and this morning when I started it,it's same SES. So I decided to visit the dealer for diagnostics. On my way I stopped for gas and fill her up and then walaaaaaaa! It was gone. All systems checked okey. I'm so happy! Was it a glitch? if it was low fuel I should have gotten a warning light. Low fuel will trigger emission problems? Hope this thingy won't come back.

I've had this happen too. Unfortunately the "increased emissions" alert is a catch-all fault with lots of possible reasons. Some cheap easy fixes (like loose gas cap)...some a little more involved. I had mine into the dealer and they replaced the pre cat O2 sensor, cleared the fault, and it came back the next day. I then proceeded to fill the fuel tank with V-Power 93 octane ethanol free gas and have not seen the fault again. Now this is the only fuel I use. In my case it was simply bad gas
