Found this on my tire this morning:

having a lot of bad luck with my tires lately. I recently replaced a front tire and now this happens on the other front tire:

does it need to be replaced or is it just superficial?

hard to tell, have to see it in person. If I had to guess, tire and wheel are okay. Wheel moreso than tire.

It looks ok from the photo you posted, but you might want to be a little extra vigilant about inspecting your tires periodically . . .

looks like the wheels on my wife's old SUV. she hits our house and curbs and other random stuff. i might get upset if she does it again as i just bought her a new x5 and it has some nice 20s. i should ask her nicely to back off the mdma and hard liquor while driving.
