This thread will be planning and scheduling for this event. Check back frequently for updates.

The road is about 42.1 Miles one way. 84.2 Miles front and back. The run has been lauded by motorcycle enthusiasts for the past few decades and has only recently gained notoriety in the last decade because of social media. The first ten mile section from highway 1 is dubbed, "the race section". Many motorcycle riders have claimed that it is much better designed that some tracks.

What: Skaggs Spring Road, Northern California.
When: Sunday, August 26th.
Start Time: 9 AM meet. 9:30 AM Depart. If you're straggling, then you can call me Jon a.k.a. JZBE92 @ 510.565.5889

Anyone do this run lately? Curious if the LEO's are out and about?

HAHA I was planning a loop drive with this section in a few weeks.

I would make the suggestion to leave earlier to ensure little or no traffic.

Also the section closest to HW 1 can be a little bumpy so heads up for that.

Last, I would suggest not posting routes to threads. You never know when Johny law might do a Google search. Just my 2 cents.

Valid point. That's why I asked about LEO. Everytime I've done it I the past on the bike, we turned around at the bridge and do the route a few times.

The section with the single lane is OK from drives past. Just need to take it easy and watch blind corners. BUT (knew it was coming) it is low traffic so great spot to stop the group for a "country" picture or 2.

I will be scouting that road and a few others for a road condition check in two weeks. If you guys do the full drive let me know how the road is. If not I will have mine up in a few weeks =)

What type of Loop were you thinking? I'm looking at the map and any loops looks really really big.

HAHA yeah if you are going to Skagg then it is a big loop. I have other loops in the same area that are shorter and less traveled. From start to finish my loop is 186 miles to drive Skagg road. This has people not starting closer to the bay and ending at the 101/37 split. Remember those miles are just the drive loop, not the miles I drive down from Sacramento to lead my drives.

Shoot me a email and I can send you the loop I was planning to do September 8th most likely. This would avoid the holiday weekend of the 1st which was my original plan.

I would join you guys but father in laws Birthday this weekend so family obligations trump car driving events.

Shit, I have to work on that day. *Jealous*

Skaggs Springs Road is one of the best spirited driving roads out there. Lots of motorbike riders go there too.

Share the road and be safe out there guys.
