Can a DCT rev 9000rpm?

Does anybody know if any chuptuner's have successfully been able to raise the rev-limiter on a DCT to 9000rpm? I know the manuals can.

I don't want to know if it's good or bad to do so, just want to know if it's technically possible in software.

Never heard of running to 9K rpms. I would have to agree with the Kabooom theory the highest I've seen is 8400 rpms

Yes. Noelle Motors does lift the redline up to 8.800 rpm for DCT in manual mode, when you get their 3.45 final drive and tune.

Dinan tune lifts redline to 8.600 rpm for DCT in manual mode and M3 GT4 has redline at 8.500 rpm for 6MT.

Thanks, do you have more info on that? There is nothing on their website.

No I'm not asking if it's safe. I don't have a DCT. I'm asking if it's possible. I heard there are some intricacies with raising the limiter on a DCT. And no-one can raise it beyond 8600rpm. I want to know if there is a documented case of a chiptuner being able to raise one beyond 8600rpm. Maybe some will claim to do it, but has anyone seen this?

Yes.

The transmission is based on the Getrag 7DCI600 which is rated it up to 440 ft lb and 9000 RPM. Also there is always a bit of manufacturer safety/tolerance as well. If they rate it to 9000 it is probably actually quite safe at 9250.

Ok so the transmission is safe for 9000. Has anyone seen a DCT rev there?

I am more worried if the motor can rev to 9000 rpm with the correct oil pressure etc etc.

The motor can be revved that high. We have a local tuner here revving 9000rpm everyday for the last 2 years on a 6MT. I want to know if any tuner has been able to program the DME & TCU to get a DCT to rev to 8800rpm.

It can be done, & it has positive effect on acceleration as the power is relativelt flat to 8800 even if it peaks before that.
