I want one & would also need a track ...

I know that wing is for down force; but BMW should seriously start working on rear diffusers & sleeker wings even for cars of this type

Well since the M3 CSL was faster than the GT3 when it came out.

I´m sure the M3 GTS will be faster than the 997 GT3 and maybe even the GT3RS.

One thing i´ve learned is to not underestimate BMW when it comes down to building fast track cars..

7:40 for the 997.2 GT3
7.33 For the 997.2 GT3 RS

The CSL did it in 7:50, 2004.

I´m sure 10-20 seconds are possible to find with the new M3 GTS. And if it doesn´t then maybe the M3 GTS-R will be up for the task.

Just spend 60K on the Nissan GTR and it will eat the M3.

Since M3 CSL did 7:50 in 2003 and at that time NoS was slower; I expect at least 7:40 time for GTS.
Any time slower than this is a big disappoinment,IMO.
Stock E92 M3 with comp. pack on regular tires is lapping the NoS already around 8:00

And what's CWP? The headlight washers do look out of place.

CWP is Cold Weather Package. I don't like the washers, which are part of the package - they spray all over and are minimally effective.

Looking at the car, I see that the pumpkin color is getting in again. Looking at the key facts, I see that the BMW-Porsche weight issue can be handled by presentation.

Thanks for posting this thread rldzhao! Always with the facts.

During last Wednesday's tour at the Regensburg plant where our cars are built, I stalled out to watch as an orange body married up to a chassis that later had what appeared to be black ZCP wheels installed...As my first thoughts were of the GTS, after questioning the guide, he explained that this was one of the few "Tiger Edition" cars being sent solely to China to celebrate the "Year of the Tiger"...

Too bad they didn't allow cameras inside the factory.

The M3 GT4 has an Akra exhaust. The M3 GTS has a different exhaust altogether.

When BMW first announced the GTS last year, the pictures showed an exhaust with different canisters and straight cut, staggered tips with discoloration associated with burnt titanium.

These latest batch of shots show new canisters, less staggered tips that have a rounded lip, and no titanium discoloration.

+1
First, I thought the exhaust was Akra but by looking at the picture I don't think it is Akraprovic exhaust tips. From the video, the sound characteristic is also very different with Akra. I wonder what would it be? Anyone?

+1. not to mention the hideous stick on the rs. even rs owner remove them right after purchase. anyone who think otherwise is cleary a fanboy.

atleast this wing is less r1cy than the rs wing. it looks straight out of the r1ce out civic i saw every once in a while.

This is a serious track build. I'll just briefly go through why I think this is the ultimate production track car in the market today.

Suspension - Individually adjustable bound/rebound
SOLID rear sub-frame mounts (solid is so much better then rubber ones, they might create more noise but stock M3 and BMW's generally have problems under extreme load with the rear sub frame mounts.)

Aero - Front adjustable splitter !! (NOT even its competition GT3 RS has a front adjustable splitter, you only get that for touring race cars!)

Game over! No way you can buy a stock M3 to build a M3 GTS . It is a race car built base here... only the true racing fanatics will truly get this car.

Please show me where to get a GTR for $60,000. I'd seriously consider getting one, though the interior is a bit tacky and cheap looking. I could live with it.

Thanks for the info and why the hell is it on the GTS?
