Very sexy..and I can finally see the inside of an e92 m3 without the second portion of dash. I dont have tech package/nav/m-drive or anything else that would enable me to have that second portion. Slick without options except DCT/EDC!

This car could be great but I don't think it could compare with a GT3 RS. The "stuck on" bodykit and curb weight ruin the deal for me. The GTS is 3,366lbs (1,530kg) while the Porsche is only 3,020lbs (1,372kg).

I see that BMW changed out the exhaust since they announced the car last year. Also, I take it that the headlight washers are not part of a CWP.

For whatever reason, I am not impressed by the GTS. Nice in theory.

I noticed that too. I like the look of it. Hopefully that will be available somehow...although I imagine it will be $$$ if it is.

At a $20-25k premium it would be a decent value and a realistic step up for many. Too bad they took the exclusive approach.

Way too much money for a car which is, in my opinion, not very promising.

Seems like a better idea to just save the money by purchasing an M3, then use said money to mod the M3 if you want a track-oriented M3.

This may be a really n00b question, and I apologize in advance, but I read that many members think M Drive/Tech/Nav is a must - I assume for slightly increased sportiness potential? (e.g. sport plus steering, etc.) So why isn't it on this car?

I agree it looks very nice.

I definitely preferred the prototype version better than the production exhaust. Anyway, BMW will release some iteration of that exhaust for the standard M3 in the fall. Pricing is anybody's guess.

Well guys, as expensive as it is, it's ALL SOLD OUT!

And I would reserve judgement until we see a Nürburgring lap time

7:40 to 7:45?

For a high-performance track-oriented car, the sportiniess is built-in in other ways. I'm sure there are still some variable settings that don't require iDrive in this car.

After it was first revealed.

It's pulled from the same assembly line where normal M3s are made and then hand finished at the M workshop, so it only makes sense that it gets the same standard equipment.

The front splitter went from a gloss finish on the prototype to a matte finish on the production car.

The only thing "stuck on" is the wing whereas the GT3RS has the front fender flairs that look totally cheap "stuck on."

Depends on what you're going to do with the car. All that stuff is so it'll be more comfortable around town. It's a different type of M buyer now who needs all the comforts of a Lexus but still have the M badge.

Now if you're looking for a track or sports car, then you don't need all that stuff... as long as you're willing to put of with a slightly heaveir steering (not heavy at all) and firmer ride (again, no harsh, but not plush). You could also install coilovers easily too.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."
