Has anyone tried Signature Werk retrofit? Looks like they have zl1, and vw Bren I retrofits. Wondering if anyone has ran them and what their thoughts are. Pic’s appreciated! Thank you

No problem. I have been debating between this kit and fitting the M2C brakes, I'm leaning towards the SW ZL1 kit.

I’m going to go with SW ZL1 kit myself. I like all the options that they offer. No time soon, but I need to replace my rotors at some point in the future

Y’all are nuts to trust this company with such an important safety component.

Good luck, but please if you’re planning any track days in your future let the community know so we can avoid you.

This kit is a lot of money for an untested retrofit from an unknown vendor. Given that they are converting a lug mount to a radial mount, you're putting a lot of trust in a guy who apparently just a few years ago was unable to figure out how to unscrew a brake hose.

That seems to be the consensus, going to save up for a proper BBK. Any recommendations? I Just started going to the beginner track days with my dad.

Just go drive and enjoy the track on the stock set up with appropriate pads and fluid. Yes a kit will look sweet but before you drop thousands of dollars on what might amount to a cosmetic upgrade just enjoy the car on track. There are many super fast drivers in purpose built track cars that were running the stock setup without issue (aside from pads, etc). Other advantage is FCP Euro pad and rotor replacements are effectively for free.

I’d strongly consider starting there but I know the BBk is alluring. I did the same and invested $5k in ST60/40 when I started and it just opened a wormhole of “necessary upgrades” that weren’t in fact needed yet.

this is hardly an upgrade over stock and people really seem to believe it does anything...

in fact majority of people who want a BBK doesn't even know the true purpose behind a BBK lol.

on top of that, you can find very convincing replica brembo calipers on alibaba.. if all you're looking at is the caliper face.

the only place worth buying a retrokit fit from is freakyparts. since he manufactures his own brackets, and tells you the oem part # to buy.

Most people buy them for looks. I did (Stoptech ST60 380mm). They felt good but I can’t say they stopped any better in my driving, but I don’t track or drive in canyons or mountains where you do repeated hard braking from 120+ mph. That is the only condition under which the BBK stops better.

https://www.achtuning.com/blog/autobild-magazine-stoptech-big-brakes-are-the-best/

A set of stock brakes with aftermarket pads does pretty well under extreme conditions. There is another, older article showing this but I can’t find it presently. That car used RS29 pads, I think, in some kind of tuner car shootout in Europe.
