I've heard the official USA "launch" for the E93 M3 is going to be Saturday, 24 May 2008. Perhaps it'll be added to their website after that. Currently, it's only listed under their "Future Vehicles" tab. I find it funny that people are receiving their cars now, but it's still listed as a "future vehicle". That whole website is a joke anyway... parts of it are way out of date. And the new vehicle tracking area sucks too -- I ordered my car three weeks ago, and they still haven't managed to get the correct model info into my profile. The car still shows up as a 2006 Jet Black 530i sedan. Not exactly an M3 'vert.
If I recall correctly, the website wasn't updated with information about the Coupe and Sedan (the configurator / 'build-your-own' features) until weeks after they launched those types in the USA. It's sad, but I've had to resort to other geographies to get the information I want about the convertible. BMW's top-level website has a great little multimedia micro-site for the convertible here: http://www.bmw.com/com/en/newvehicle...roduction.html And I've found the UK site to be very helpful -- their configurator / build-your-own is up and running, so I used that to decide whether or not to get extended leather: http://www.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/homepage/ BMW USA really needs to get their act together. Hopefully that will all change after 24 May.

Yeah I really don't understand BMW marketing. I guess they just think we don't give a F about the online configurators? I mean those things should be active months before the car is available, even if pricing is not. Really strange way of doing business, IMHO.

The group of folks taking care of the BMWUSA website are real bunch of geniuses. Look at the window title of the M3 coupe pages; it says "135i Coupe ...". Your guess is as good as mine as to when we'll see the E93 M3 up there. They don't even have DCT available for the sedan on the website.
I suppose BMW puts all of their talented engineers in car design. The rest come to the US to take care of the website.

I agree. I think that they have become too comfortable in the fact that we (BMW fans) are crazy about their cars and just do whatever.
Thanks on the launch date of the convertible! |

It still isn't updated completely. It is a freakin' joke. BMW gets a huge -1 in this category. Terrible electronic marketing or whatever you want to call it.

Found the byo feature for the e93
If you use the search bar at the bmwusa.com homepage and type in m3 convertible the 4th result is a link to the u.s. version of the e93 build your own page. It also has no dct, but if its up and running why dont they at least make it accessible, i just found it randomly.

Thanks for the tip CarbonM3 - cool. One thing I notice is it doesn't update the picture correctly when you put on 19s. Other than that, and lack of M-DCT (which the sedan doesn't show yet either), it seems to be functioning properly.

I did swing by the (hidden) configurator, and noticed the "chromeline" trim is indeed depicted, and there is no option for shadowline. If BMW had made this site available when the order banks opened up, it would have saved (at least me) a lot of consternation.

bmw needs a new website manager or management team. even the e90 and e92 configurators are still full of bugs. when going to the final page of the configurator it resets my configuration to AW with Black novillo interior. WTF
