As you know I have a bad ass m3, but alas I have sold it and I'm thinking hard about a clk 63 BS
With software alone these things are gaining something like 70hp. With the VT2 575 SC my M made 440hp on the wheels and a tuned 63 made 420, and that was at 5400 ft so nice car IMO Plus it's more mature than an M3, which in my case is starting to be more important since the wife was giving crap about my racer m3 Last edited by Bob MG; 10-03-2010 at 03:50 PM.. |

I don't know if I'd call a BS more mature... its suspension is very stiff and it has no back seats. It's not exactly a practical car. Don't get me wrong, I think they're very nice. But the C63 can make the same power plus be more practical.

G- have you taken a spin in your buddy's? I'm curious as to the ride quality. They do reportedly handle exceptionally well ...especially for a 3,900 lb car. |

Brand new they were $130K+/-. You can get one with 10k miles now for $80-85K. Some are in the upper $70's. Save for a slightly used Porsche 997TT (which is priced comparably these days), I think it's about the best you can get if you are looking for the complete car i.e. styling/build quality/fit and finish and superior performance.

I'm thinking hard about the Clk as my next car but really worry about that one aspect. |

one day in the future, I will own a BS, for it's value.
I would not take it out on a track, I will not DD it, I just want to show it off and listen to the exhaust note. That's what the car is designed for. It's a driver's car, not a track car. |

So if it's a *driver's* car, shouldn't you be *driving* it instead of inhaling exhaust gas?

Having said that, if i were to post a poll on ANY NON BMW forum with pictures of all the cars you have posted, an E46 M3 and an E92M3 would not stand a chance in the looks department vs a CLK63 AMG BS. Trust me on this one. |

Outside of heavy rain or snow but that's about it. The car is gorgeous. I have seen SLRs, R8, 911 Turbos, F430, and several Lambos in person and none of them had the presence of the silver CLK black I saw a few months back did. Just epic! |

People who knows cars, see a BS and think, that's beyond cool, it's bad ass! F430s, Lambos..ho hum, dime a dozen. The BS tugs at your inner-child and screams in it's face. BTW, since you're in VA, come to cars and coffee in great falls and you'll consistently see this guy: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...=408181&page=3 |

Yeah, I though about this event too ^^^^
On one hand, you'd want to go to see it and lust after the car. On the other hand, you don't want to go see it because it's a tease that you can't own it (yet). Hey, maybe that owner will take me for a spin so I can see how that tranmission is.... |

this car is absolutely stunning. Been thinking about getting one since I made partner at my firm. Test drove one and although I can complain about transmission, once I get into the cockpit, I forget about it. Things I like:
Exhaust note when I first start it up. Can't explain it. It's just very muscular and deep (think lion's roar) The torque! it is one crazy beast when my lead foot got to action. It fishtails a little on 1st gear, but it seems the car corrects itself. Def feels faster than my M in all counts Was surprised that there is no quick seat back release to put stuff in the rear. Guess there are no backseats, so there is no need for it. Love the CFtrim pcs. Very high quality. |

Riiight...
Well regardless, I'd take an F430 over the BS any day of the week, twice on Sunday. It's just a better car to drive, as people who know cars should know.

Personally I would too, but when I see a F430 and BS in the parking lot, I'm going to the BS to check it out first!
