How fast is fast?? flyby video

Saw this video on another forum. Unreal passing video shot from a car on the autobahn traveling at approximately 150kmph........it looks to be a Z06 vette going balls to the wall.

How fast do you think he was going?? Yes I realize the title says 200mph......

WOW! Amazing! That is pretty dangerous though. What if the car in front decided to move into the left lane at that moment?

^ That was probably done in some European country (I suspect Germany). Over there you're not supposed to cut someone off. If they're speeding, you HAVE TO move out of the way if you're going slower.

I have family in Germany and have driven on the autobahn, good drivers still slow down when coming upto a group of cars. At 200+mph, someone in the right lane could make a lane change and not even realize you are coming up on the left. Just look at how fast the vette dissappeared after it passed, likewise it appears just as fast when approaching.

On that note, I agree with you. I thought you meant what if they changed lane knowing that there is someone coming up in their rear view mirror. But I concur that if it's too fast other drivers might not be able to see the speeding car.

They have much better lane discipline and actually use their mirrors over there. I am sure that the flash-to-pass feature is also used quite liberally for just such encounters. I'd also say that they're more used to being passed at pretty ludicrous rates of speed on a regular basis than we are.

The only place I can think of I have driven in the US where it seems as though people actually get their heads out of their asses and use their mirrors is Alligator Alley - the S FL guys can probably chime in on that. People go flying through there (I've followed a 911 Turbo through there at 155mph early one Sunday morning) and most of the slowpokes (ie, those going less than 100 mph) get the message pretty quickly.

People do pull out in front of you on the autobahn...and their plates usually start as RüD (funny huh?) I have had to stand on the break before when doing 135 to avoid rear ending the jackass that pulled out in front of me when I would have cleared him before he even got close to the car he was passing had he waited. I also had someone almost merge into my door in their shittly little Mercedes A class on the A3.

I know, whatever, seems to me that the person videotaping was ready for the fly-by. Who drivea around with the camera on, waiting for a ZO6 to drive by going 'almost' 200mph?
