Preimum Audio

Does any one have more detail on the Premium audio offered on the 2013 cars? All I have been able to find is a short write up on the build you own BMW site. Interested to know any details including who makes it and its capabilities. Is there a separate manual for it or is it covered in the standard manual.

There is no extra manual included with the system. The only official details I have are the same you described; 900 watts, etc.

If you're wondering from personal experience, in my opinion, the system is amazing and well worth it. It has been covered extensively on other threads as well.

Some have speculated that the system is in fact Logic7 but I have not seen this officially confirmed.

Thanks - was hoping for some written information detailing the system. I know some threads have discussed hat the Logic 7 can be ordered on the M3 even though it is not in the configuation system, so I am pretty sure its a different system - hope so since it cost twice as much. I tried search but couldn't find any specific information beyond the write up in the config system and user reviews.

I would just get it. As with most things for this car, it's easier to downgrade than to upgrade later on.

I would get the Logic7 instead of the EPS/Individual Audio.

The way that I see it is that -sound quality-wise- the Logic7 is worth $1000 over the HiFi but the Individual Audio is not worth either the $1900 over the HiFi or $900 over the Logic7.

Good advice on this car. I did order it. Just wanted to know more about what I am paying for. Have to do something while I wait for it to get here

That might be right but I didn't know the logic 7 was available until after I ordered the premium audio. It does look impressive in the short write up available.

Agreed. I replaced all my speakers with Logic7 (w/ JL600/6) and it sounds much better.

I dont have anything of real value to add... other than i have the premium audio and it sounds great. Very articulate at high volumes. Not tons of bass, but its natural.

If i was to buy the car new, id pay the 1900.

Are you saying that you had the premium Audio and you replaced the premium audio speakers with the Logic 7 and is sounds better? If so thats hard to believe.

I had the Hifi system and replaced all the woofers with Logic 7 and it made a big difference. Later, I replaced all the tweeters with CDT audio and amp with JL...and I think it sounds much better than premium audio.

Logic 7 speakers are very good. Much better than the premium audio that I've tested in other M's

BMW couldn't have made this any more complicated.

When I first 'built' my car... it was Comp, Nav, heated seats and a 6MT... then I wanted EPS... so I had to add premium (requirement for 2012+)...

Would it have been possible to option Logic 7 w/o the Premium Package?

Me too - hard to believe - the premium audio speaker write up sounds like they are very high quality. I have the Logic 7 in my 135i and had it in my 550i Msport. I thought it was decent - but nothing special.
