Aftermarket DCT Paddles
Where's all the aftermarket paddles? Is it on hold due to wiring, etc, or is it something that will be very expensive and not worth producing?
The E46 M3 had the a few options like the Royal F1 paddles:

I'm doing it on my 335. I was wondering why there aren't any aftermarket paddles since OEM is like ~$500.

Even though there is a market for such a product, there really is only one way to do this and that way is with a "core" type charge. The attachment point on the E9x models are inside the steering column, unlike the E46 M3s being exposed outside the steering column. So for a company like mine, it's too much money to go in this direction. The price to do a "core" type sale is gonna be $900 (for new DCT steering wheel assembly) + the price of the Shift Paddle cost. You would have to send back your steering wheel assembly, but then it has to be brand new, as this would be reused & sent out to the next customer. The Shift Paddles could be sold seperately and some will/can do as a DIY, but the majority will want to just have it done for them or installed for them. Also as you can see, the number of people who want to do this does not merrit doing it, especially making the cost low enough for anyone to justify buying it. Anyone who is in the manufacturing/design industry will explain, that the price of the finished product has to re-coup the cost of design, materials, R&D, etc. and that price would NOT be re-couped unless the product will sell in the hundreds to thousands. Also, for anyone also wondering, the 335, E9x M3, E6x M5 & M6 all have different steering wheel assemblies...I've also looked into that too.

I guess we'll just have to put on some glow in the dark stickers on the - and + signs.
