Fortunate, 'cause they're getting losing to Houston, 66-59.

EDIT: Something's gotta be wrong when Steve Blake is the Lakers leading scorer...
"backed into the playoffs" is a little disingenuous. That implies there wasn't any work by the Lakers to get to where they were. For example, 9wins in the last 10 games, making it to 7th seed, losing a star player, playing uphill since the All Star break, all topped with numerous injuries to over half the team.

Under the circumstances, that's actually a pretty big accomplishment for any team isn't it?

Indeed, it is a big achievement considering the circus like season it has been. Spaniard with 2 triple doubles in 3 games made sure that 7th is clinched in Kobe's absence.

Not to worry though, haters will be fluttering around soon along with another bout of conspiracy theorists..

GO LAKERS!!!

For any team, yes... For the Lakers (and us fans), it's all about the banners.

Yeah, we're greedy.

Maybe... But Lakers have a much better chance against the Spurs than the Thunder.

Last night's game was absolutely amazing. Can't wait to see the Lakers play the Spurs; hopefully it will turn out to be an interesting series!

Also want to watch Harden play vs. OKC!

Steve Blake needs to stop acting like hes Kobe Bryant shooting the ball like a maniac.

Lakers are playing extremely well. I think the X factor going into the playoff is Pau Gasol. If he can play defense and make plays for Howard and the rest of the team they are in good shape.

Yea I know. I thought it was funny that the clippers didn't put up their division banner since the lakers only put up championship and retired hall of fame banners.

True true. I'm a big fan, but I saw us getting swept in 4 if we played OKC.

The Lakeshow showed what they can do against San Antonio just a few days ago. They can win the series but they can't make many mistakes.

Oh, for sure... OKC is a pack of greyhounds.

Reminds me of the Lakers Magic-Kareem-Worthy Showtime Era... It was a track meet.

Hmm, I'm dating myself.

You must be 50 lol, I was looking at a hardwood classic the other day on ESPN LA vs Portland, it was an 80s game, the shorts made me laugh, and those guys back then were not as athletic as today, lots of lay ups and mid range jumpers.

You could say that about most sports. Huge advancement in performance enhancing drugs in the last 20 yrs.

Russell Westbrook is the epitome of a guy who overwhelms with physicality. Low FG percentage, high TO rate. He's the kind of guy when he turns 31, 32, when he lacks any of the physical attributes of a young man, will end up sitting on some team's bench.

Bet you $20 those shorts come back one day. Remember the 70s trend we had in the late 90s, or the retro car revival (mustang, beetle, etc) from the early 2000s? Whats old become new again. I'll wince and look away in terror when those shorts come back, but back this will be.
