front fender rattle

anyone else? what can this be?
I noticed this one day when I shut my door I heard this rattle from the front end.
I tapped around with my hand and found the rattle at the very front part of the fender, right on that pointed part above the headlight.

Sound like shiz when I lightly tap on it with my finger. and oh yeah for some reason my "MAX AC" button doesnt work anymore either..even in above freezing temps.. whats that about?!

my car doesnt like all this winter and ice stuff I guess..

Sorry to bring up the dead but I think this is "normal". My friend had the same complaint on his e90 on the drivers side. And another e92 owner i met has a rattle on his as well. We all love BMW but they do have their quirks.

A car should not have rattles. If something is rattling that means that something is loose or broken.

I think thats a prejudicial statement. They are plastic fenders with metal fasteners so there is a little more flex than a traditional fender. Same can be said for the crap body panel alignment on some BMWs. Doesnt mean something is broken, just means BMW sucks at putting things together from factory.

Perhaps you should look up the meaning of the word "prejudicial". Saying that rattles are an indication that something is loose or broken is hardly prejudicial. Saying that "BMW sucks at putting things together" on the other hand is.

My front fenders neither rattle nor squeak, for what it's worth...

I think I know what prejudicial means, but I totally get what your saying.

My point was just that these are mass produced cars and not everything is perfect fit and finish. Perfect example being the seatbelt butler.
